וַיֶּאֱהַ֤ב שְׁלֹמֹה֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה לָלֶ֕כֶת בְּחֻקּ֖וֹת דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו רַ֚ק בַּבָּמ֔וֹת ה֥וּא מְזַבֵּ֖חַ וּמַקְטִֽיר׃
Salomon aimait l’Eternel et se conformait aux instructions de son père David. Seulement, lui aussi offrait des sacrifices et des parfums sur les *hauts-lieux.

World English Bible Solomon loved Yahweh, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

Malgré ce désordre, le cœur de Salomon était droit ; il est le seul homme de l'Ancien Testament dont il est dit qu'il aima l'Eternel. Comparez le nom de Jédidja, chéri de l'Eternel, qui lui est donné 2Samuel 12.25.

Selon les ordonnances... : selon les ordonnances de Dieu observées et léguées par David. David est le type d'après lequel seront appréciés dans ce livre les rois de Juda (1Rois 15.3,11 ; 2Rois 14.3 ; 16.2, etc.).

Seulement... David ne s'était jamais permis cette déviation de l'ordonnance légale.
