Il accuse les principaux qui l'entourent, de conspirer contre lui avec David, et cela à l'instigation de Jonathan, son propre fils.

Benjamites. Saül s'était entouré surtout d'hommes de sa tribu et les avait favorisés dans la distribution des charges et des bénéfices. Tout cela cessera ; car David accordera les mêmes avantages aux gens de sa propre tribu.
