- Le livre et l'Agneau
  
  1 I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.
  
  2 I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?"
  
  3 No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it.
  
  4 And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it.
  
  5 One of the elders said to me, "Don't weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals."
  
  6 I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.
  
  7 Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.
  
  8 Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
  
  9 They sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,
  
  10 and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth."
  
  11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;
  
  12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!"
  
  13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen! "
  
  14 The four living creatures said, "Amen!" The elders fell down and worshiped.

  1 Je vois un livre en forme de rouleau. Il est dans la main droite de celui qui est assis sur le siège royal. Ce rouleau est écrit des deux côtés et il est fermé avec sept attaches en cire.
  
  2 Je vois un ange puissant. Il crie d’une voix forte : « Qui est digne de défaire les attaches et d’ouvrir le livre ? »
  
  3 Mais dans le ciel, sur la terre et sous la terre, personne ne peut ouvrir le livre, personne ne peut regarder ce qu’il y a dedans.
  
  4 Alors je pleure beaucoup. En effet, personne n’est digne d’ouvrir le livre, personne n’est digne de regarder ce qu’il y a dedans.
  
  5 Mais un des anciens me dit : « Ne pleure pas ! Regarde : il est vainqueur, le lion de la tribu de Juda, l’homme de la famille du roi David. Il va défaire les sept attaches et ouvrir le livre. »
  
  6 Alors je vois un Agneau debout. Il est près du siège royal, au milieu des quatre êtres vivants et des anciens. L’Agneau semble offert en sacrifice. Il a sept cornes et sept yeux. Les yeux sont les sept esprits que Dieu envoie dans le monde entier.
  
  7 L’Agneau s’avance, il vient prendre le livre dans la main droite de celui qui est assis sur le siège royal.
  
  8 Quand l’Agneau a pris le livre, les quatre êtres vivants et les 24 anciens tombent à genoux devant lui. Chacun tient une harpe, et des coupes en or, pleines de parfum. Ce sont les prières de ceux qui appartiennent à Dieu.
  
  9 Ils chantent un chant nouveau : « Tu es digne de prendre le livre et de défaire ses attaches. Oui, tu as été offert en sacrifice. Avec ton sang, tu as racheté pour Dieu des gens de toute tribu et de toute langue, de tous les peuples et de tous les pays. Tu les as offerts à Dieu,
  
  10 tu as fait d’eux les membres du Royaume de Dieu. Tu as fait d’eux des prêtres pour servir notre Dieu, et ils seront rois sur le monde entier. »
  
  11 Je regarde encore et j’entends des anges très nombreux. Ils sont des millions et des millions autour du siège royal, autour des êtres vivants et des anciens.
  
  12 Ils chantent avec force : « L’Agneau sacrifié est digne de recevoir puissance, richesse, sagesse, force, honneur, gloire et louange ! »
  
  13 Et j’entends aussi tout ce que Dieu a créé dans le ciel, sur la terre, sous la terre et sur la mer. Tout ce qui existe dans le monde chante : « Louange, honneur, gloire et pouvoir pour toujours à celui qui est assis sur le siège royal, ainsi qu’à l’Agneau ! »
  
  14 Et les quatre êtres vivants disent : « Amen ! » Les anciens tombent à genoux et ils adorent.
