Le premier attirera à l'Eternel de nombreux adorateurs, en retour de tous les biens dont il le comble, de sorte que des troupes nombreuses se joindront à lui pour aller adorer sur la montagne où se trouvera le lieu de culte du vrai Dieu. Ses richesses viendront spécialement du commerce maritime, de la pêche en général, de la pêche de l'insecte à pourpre en particulier, et peut-être aussi de la fabrication du verre (le sable de la mer).

Sacrifices de justice : offerts dans les dispositions convenables (Psaumes 4.6).

Le territoire de Zabulon paraît avoir atteint la côte de la mer Méditerranée immédiatement au sud de la Phénicie. Celui d'Issacar s'étendait à l'intérieur vers l'est et renfermait la grande et fertile plaine d'Esdraélon. Il est vrai qu'au moment du partage du pays (Josué 19.10-16) le territoire de Zabulon paraît s'être arrêté au Carmel. Mais ou bien c'est ici une description idéale du territoire de Zabulon qui ne s'est point réalisée plus tard (comparez Genèse 49.13, note), ou bien il faut admettre qu'à la suite du partage qui avait exclu Zabulon des bords de la mer, il a lui-même étendu son territoire et occupé la côte entre le Carmel et la Phénicie. Cette portion de la Terre Sainte était celle où Israël fut le plus mêlé avec les païens ; elle a porté plus tard le nom de Galilée des Gentils.
