Second fils d'Aaron (Ex 6:23 28:1, No 3:2 26:60,1Ch 6:3 24:1) ; accompagna Moïse sur le Sinaï (Ex 24:1,9) ; fut admis au sacerdoce (Ex 28:1, No 3:2-4), mais il mourut avec son frère Nadab, consumé par un « feu étranger » qu'il avait voulu offrir à l'Éternel (Le 10:1 No 3:4 26:61,1Ch 24:2).
