Descendant de Cush d'après Ge 10:7, (cf. 1Ch 1:9) ou d'Abraham par Kétura d'après Ge 25:3 ; ancêtre d'une tribu arabe voisine d'Édom (probablement au Sud-E.) et dont le trafic par caravanes s'étendait jusqu'à Tyr (Esa 21:13, Jer 25:23 49:8, Eze 25:13 27:20).

Dans Eze 27:15, il faut plutôt lire : Rodan = Rhodes. Voir Table des peuples.
