EGYPTE (torrent d')

Ouâdi, ou ruisseau, marquant la frontière S. -O, de la Palestine (No 34:5, Jos 15:4,7,1Ro 8:65,2Ro 24:7,2Ch 7:8, Esa 27:12), encore appelé « le torrent qui se jette dans la grande mer », ou « le torrent » (Eze 48:28,47:19) et peut-être aussi « le torrent du désert » ; voir (Am 6:14) Fleuve.

Aujourd'hui, le ouâdi el-Arich qui, après un très long parcours dans la péninsule du Sinaï, se jette dans la Méditerranée à 80 km. au Sud-O, de Gaza et à 120 à l'Est du Delta du Nil. Son lit profond n'a de l'eau qu'après de fortes pluies. Voir Sihor et Sur.
