(=tombant goutte à goutte). Ville de Juda mentionnée avec Bethléhem, qu'habitaient les descendants de Caleb (1Ch 2:54, où ses habitants sont appelés les Nétophathiens) et que les Juifs réoccupèrent après l'exil (Esd 2:22, Ne 7:26).

Lieu d'origine de Maharaï (2Sa 23:28,1Ch 11:30), Baana (2Sa 23:29,1Ch 11:30), Ephaï (Jer 40:8) et Tanhumet (2Ro 25:23). On identifie cette localité soit avec l'actuel Beit Nettif, à environ 25 km. au Sud-O, de Jérusalem, à l'entrée de l'ancienne « Vallée des Térébinthes », soit plutôt avec Khirbet Outmn Toba, à environ 5 km. au Sud de Jérusalem.
