Lévitique 26.42

Alors je me souviendrai des alliances conclues avec leurs ancêtres, Jacob, Isaac et Abraham, et je me souviendrai aussi de ma promesse relative à leur pays.
j’agirai en fonction de mon alliance avec Jacob, de mon alliance avec Isaac, et de mon alliance avec Abraham, et j’interviendrai en faveur du pays.

De mon alliance : cette alliance que Dieu semblait avoir oubliée. Si Dieu résiste aux orgueilleux, il fait grâce à celui qui s'humilie.

Jacob est placé en tête et à part comme étant le plus étroitement lié à ce peuple, qui est tout entier sa postérité, tandis qu'Abraham et Isaac ont eu des descendants étrangers au peuple d'Israël.

Je me souviendrai du pays : de ce pays maintenant désolé, mais qui est toujours le leur et qui les attend.
