Marc passe au dernier cycle de cette prophétie par une particule (mais) qui fait attendre un nouveau sujet. Pour marquer l'ordre des temps, il se sert de cette expression vague : en ces jours-là, aprÚs cette tribulation, et évite ainsi l'expression si précise de Matthieu : aussitÎt aprÚs, dans laquelle l'exégÚse a trouvé de grandes difficultés.

L'explication que nous avons essayĂ© d'en donner, (voir Matthieu 24.29, 1re note) n'est point opposĂ©e Ă  la relation de Marc qui, lui aussi, Ă©tend ses regards vers un avenir assez lointain oĂč paraĂźtront de faux christs et de faux prophĂštes. (versets 21-23)

Cette distinction des temps parait surtout trÚs claire dans Luc (Luc 21.24,25) qui, entre la ruine de Jérusalem et les signes précurseurs du retour de Christ rapportés par les trois évangiles, place cette prédiction remarquable : "Et Jérusalem sera foulée aux pieds par les païens, jusqu'à ce que les temps des païens soient accomplis."

Les disciples confondaient la destruction de Jérusalem avec la fin du monde. Christ corrigea cette erreur, et montra que le jour de Sa venue, comme celui du jugement, viendront aprÚs cette tribulation, annoncée précédemment.

Le Seigneur Jésus annonce la dissolution finale de la structure du monde présent, ainsi que Son apparition visible : Il viendra dans la nuée, rassemblant tous Ses élus. Amen !
