  12 "But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?
  
  13 Man doesn't know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.
  
  14 The deep says, 'It isn't in me.' The sea says, 'It isn't with me.'
  
  15 It can't be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.
  
  16 It can't be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire .
  
  17 Gold and glass can't equal it, neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
  
  18 No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
  
  19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
  
  20 Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?
  
  21 Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.
  
  22 Destruction and Death say, 'We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.'
  
  23 "God understands its way, and he knows its place.
  
  24 For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.
  
  25 He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.
  
  26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder;
  
  27 then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.
  
  28 To man he said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord , that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.'"
  
  Proverbes 8
  
  1 Doesn't wisdom cry out? Doesn't understanding raise her voice?
  
  2 On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
  
  3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
  
  4 "To you men, I call! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
  
  5 You simple, understand prudence. You fools, be of an understanding heart.
  
  6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.
  
  7 For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
  
  8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
  
  9 They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.
  
  10 Receive my instruction rather than silver; knowledge rather than choice gold.
  
  11 For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can't be compared to it.
  
  12 "I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.
  
  13 The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
  
  14 Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.
  
  15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
  
  16 By me princes rule; nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
  
  17 I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
  
  18 With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
  
  19 My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; my yield than choice silver.
  
  20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
  
  21 That I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
  
  22 "Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
  
  23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
  
  24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.
  
  25 Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was brought forth;
  
  26 while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
  
  27 When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle on the surface of the deep,
  
  28 when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
  
  29 when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth;
  
  30 then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
  
  31 Rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
  
  32 "Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
  
  33 Hear instruction, and be wise. Don't refuse it.
  
  34 Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.
  
  35 For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
  
  36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death."
  
  Esaïe 55
  
  1 "Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
  
  2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn't satisfy? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
  
  3 Turn your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
  
  4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.
  
  5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you don't know; and a nation that didn't know you shall run to you, because of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you."
  
  6 Seek Yahweh while he may be found; call you on him while he is near:
  
  7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  
  8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," says Yahweh.
  
  9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
  
  10 For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn't return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
  
  11 so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.
  
  12 For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands.
  
  13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to Yahweh for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off."

  13 לֹא־יָדַ֣ע אֱנ֣וֹשׁ עֶרְכָּ֑הּ וְלֹ֥א תִ֝מָּצֵ֗א בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַֽחַיִּֽים׃
  
  14 תְּה֣וֹם אָ֭מַר לֹ֣א בִי־הִ֑יא וְיָ֥ם אָ֝מַ֗ר אֵ֣ין עִמָּדִֽי׃
  
  15 לֹא־יֻתַּ֣ן סְג֣וֹר תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ וְלֹ֥א יִ֝שָּׁקֵ֗ל כֶּ֣סֶף מְחִירָֽהּ׃

  20 וְֽ֭הַחָכְמָה מֵאַ֣יִן תָּב֑וֹא וְאֵ֥י זֶ֝֗ה מְק֣וֹם בִּינָֽה׃
  
  21 וְֽ֭נֶעֶלְמָה מֵעֵינֵ֣י כָל־חָ֑י וּמֵע֖וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם נִסְתָּֽרָה׃

  9 כִּֽי־גָבְה֥וּ שָׁמַ֖יִם מֵאָ֑רֶץ כֵּ֣ן גָּבְה֤וּ דְרָכַי֙ מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֔ם וּמַחְשְׁבֹתַ֖י מִמַּחְשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
  
  10 כִּ֡י כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵרֵד֩ הַגֶּ֨שֶׁם וְהַשֶּׁ֜לֶג מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם וְשָׁ֙מָּה֙ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֔וּב כִּ֚י אִם־הִרְוָ֣ה אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהוֹלִידָ֖הּ וְהִצְמִיחָ֑הּ וְנָ֤תַן זֶ֙רַע֙ לַזֹּרֵ֔עַ וְלֶ֖חֶם לָאֹכֵֽל׃

  12 Mais la Sagesse, où peut-on la trouver ? Et l’intelligence, où est sa source ?
  
  13 Les humains n’en connaissent pas le prix, et on ne la trouve pas au pays des vivants.
  
  14 L’océan dit : « Elle n’habite pas ici », et la mer affirme : « Elle n’est pas chez moi. »
  
  15 On ne peut pas l’échanger contre un morceau d’or pur, on ne peut pas l’acheter avec beaucoup d’argent.
  
  16 L’or le plus pur, la cornaline précieuse ou le saphir n’ont pas sa valeur.
  
  17 Ni l’or ni le verre ne peuvent être comparés à la Sagesse. On ne peut l’obtenir contre une coupe d’or pur.
  
  18 Ne parlons même pas du corail et du cristal. La valeur de la Sagesse dépasse celle des perles.
  
  19 La topaze éthiopienne ne peut lui être comparée, même l’or pur n’a pas sa valeur.
  
  20 Mais d’où vient la Sagesse ? Et l’intelligence, où est sa source ?
  
  21 Elle se cache aux yeux de tous les vivants, les oiseaux du ciel ne la voient pas.
  
  22 La mort et le monde des morts disent : « Oui, nous avons entendu parler d’elle. »
  
  23 Mais c’est Dieu qui en connaît le chemin, il sait où elle habite.
  
  24 C’est lui qui regarde jusqu’au bout du monde et il voit tout ce qui est sous le ciel.
  
  25 En effet, c’est lui qui a donné sa force au vent, il a mesuré la quantité de l’eau,
  
  26 il a fixé une limite à la pluie, et un chemin au tonnerre qui gronde.
  
  27 À ce moment-là, Dieu a vu la Sagesse et il l’a appréciée. Il l’a remarquée et il a voulu voir ce qu’elle valait.
  
  28 Ensuite, il a dit aux êtres humains : « Respecter le Seigneur, voilà la Sagesse ! Fuir le mal, voilà l’intelligence ! »
  
  Proverbes 8
  
  1 La Sagesse lance un appel, l’intelligence élève la voix. Est-ce que vous n’entendez pas ?
  
  2 Sur les collines qui dominent la route, au carrefour des chemins, la Sagesse se tient debout.
  
  3 Près des portes, à l’entrée de la ville, sur les lieux de passage, elle crie :
  
  4 « Vous, les humains, c’est vous que j’appelle. Je m’adresse à vous tous.
  
  5 Vous, les gens sans expérience, apprenez à avoir du bon sens. Vous qui manquez de sagesse, apprenez à être intelligents.
  
  6 Écoutez bien, car je vais dire des choses importantes et je vais parler franchement.
  
  7 Oui, je dis la vérité, car je déteste toutes les paroles fausses.
  
  8 Tout ce que je dis est exact. Je ne parle jamais pour tromper, je ne mens pas.
  
  9 Une personne intelligente trouve mes paroles justes, celle qui est savante les trouve sincères.
  
  10 Choisissez mon enseignement plutôt que l’argent, préférez la connaissance à l’or pur.
  
  11 En effet, moi, la Sagesse, j’ai plus de valeur que les bijoux, et je suis plus précieuse que tout ce que vous désirez. »
  
  12 « Moi, la Sagesse, je ne me sépare pas du bon sens, je sais agir en réfléchissant.
  
  13 Respecter le SEIGNEUR, c’est détester le mal. Je déteste l’orgueil, le mépris, les actions mauvaises et les mensonges.
  
  14 Mon travail est de conseiller les humains et de leur apprendre à prévoir. Je suis l’intelligence et je possède la puissance.
  
  15 Grâce à moi, les rois gouvernent et les juges établissent des lois justes.
  
  16 Grâce à moi, les chefs commandent, ainsi que les notables et tous ceux qui rendent la justice sur la terre.
  
  17 Moi, j’aime ceux qui m’aiment. Ceux qui me cherchent me trouveront sûrement.
  
  18 Je donne la richesse et l’honneur, des biens qui durent et une récompense méritée.
  
  19 Mes bienfaits sont plus précieux que l’or le plus pur, et mes dons sont meilleurs que l’argent de qualité.
  
  20 J’avance sur la route de la justice, sur le chemin où les lois sont respectées.
  
  21 Là, je donne des biens à ceux qui m’aiment, je remplis leurs maisons d’objets précieux.
  
  22 Le SEIGNEUR m’a créée la première, avant toutes les autres choses qu’il a faites.
  
  23 Il m’a formée depuis toujours, au commencement de tout, avant que le monde existe.
  
  24 À ma naissance, les mers n’étaient pas encore là. Il n’y avait pas de sources remplies d’eau.
  
  25 Je suis née avant la formation des montagnes, avant les collines.
  
  26 À ce moment-là, le SEIGNEUR n’avait pas encore fait la terre, ni les champs, ni le premier grain de poussière du sol.
  
  27 J’étais là quand il a posé solidement le ciel, quand il a tracé l’horizon au-dessus des mers,
  
  28 quand il a fixé les nuages en haut, quand il a donné leur force aux sources d’en bas,
  
  29 quand il a mis des limites à la mer, quand il a commandé à l’eau de ne pas les dépasser, quand il a placé les fondations de la terre.
  
  30 Pendant ce temps, j’étais là, près du SEIGNEUR, comme un architecte. Jour après jour, je lui donnais de la joie, je jouais sans cesse devant lui.
  
  31 Je jouais sur le sol de la terre qu’il a faite. Et je trouve ma joie parmi les humains. »
  
  32 « Et maintenant, mes enfants, écoutez-moi. Ils sont heureux, ceux qui font ce que je dis !
  
  33 Écoutez mes avertissements pour être des sages, ne les méprisez pas.
  
  34 Ils sont heureux, ceux qui m’écoutent, qui veillent chaque jour à ma porte, qui surveillent l’entrée de ma maison !
  
  35 Oui, celui qui me trouve a trouvé la vie, et le SEIGNEUR l’approuve.
  
  36 Mais celui qui ne me trouve pas se blesse lui-même, tous ceux qui me détestent aiment la mort. »
  
  Esaïe 55
  
  1 « Vous tous qui avez soif, voici de l’eau, venez ! Même si vous n’avez pas d’argent, venez ! Achetez à manger, c’est gratuit. Venez, achetez du vin et du lait sans argent.
  
  2 Pourquoi dépenser de l’argent pour quelque chose qui ne nourrit pas ? Pourquoi vous fatiguer pour quelque chose qui ne rassasie pas ? Écoutez-moi bien, alors vous aurez de bonnes choses à manger, vous goûterez des choses délicieuses.
  
  3 Tendez l’oreille et venez vers moi. Écoutez, et vous vivrez. » Le SEIGNEUR dit : « Je ferai avec vous une alliance qui durera toujours. Je vous assure pour toujours les bienfaits que j’ai promis à David.
  
  4 J’avais fait de lui un témoin de mon pouvoir pour les peuples, un chef qui commande des populations.
  
  5 Toi aussi, Israël, tu feras appel à des peuples inconnus, et ces étrangers qui ne te connaissent pas se dépêcheront de venir vers toi. Ils viendront à cause de moi, le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, le Dieu saint d’Israël, qui veux t’honorer. »
  
  6 Cherchez le SEIGNEUR pendant qu’il se laisse trouver. Faites appel à lui pendant qu’il est près de vous.
  
  7 Les gens mauvais doivent abandonner leur conduite. Celui qui fait le mal doit abandonner ses pensées méchantes. Tous doivent revenir vers le SEIGNEUR, car il aura pitié d’eux. Tous doivent revenir vers notre Dieu, car il pardonne généreusement.
  
  8 Le SEIGNEUR déclare : « Vos pensées ne sont pas mes pensées, mes façons de faire ne sont pas les vôtres.
  
  9 Il y a une grande distance entre mes façons de faire et les vôtres, entre mes pensées et vos pensées. Elle est aussi grande que la distance entre le ciel et la terre.
  
  10 « La pluie et la neige tombent du ciel. Elles n’y retournent pas sans produire un résultat : elles arrosent la terre, elles la rendent fertile et font pousser les graines. Ainsi, elles donnent des graines à semer et de la nourriture à manger.
  
  11 De la même façon, la parole qui sort de ma bouche ne revient pas vers moi sans résultat : elle réalise ce que je veux, elle accomplit la mission que je lui ai confiée. »
  
  12 Vous quitterez Babylone dans la joie et vous serez ramenés chez vous dans la paix. Les montagnes et les collines pousseront des cris de joie sur votre passage. Tous les arbres de la campagne applaudiront.
  
  13 Le cyprès poussera à la place du buisson d’épines, l’arbre de bonne odeur remplacera les plantes piquantes. Tout cela se passera pour que le SEIGNEUR soit honoré. Ce sera un signe qui durera toujours et ne sera jamais détruit.
