5 à 7 Influence éternellement bénie de ce roi.

Que l'on te craigne. Si le pronom te se rapporte à Dieu, ce passage signifie que la justice, fidèlement rendue, fera régner dans le peuple la crainte de Dieu, et cela non d'une manière passagère, mais à toujours. C'est ainsi que l'entendent, entre autres interprètes, Calvin et Delitzsch. Mais, comme tous les versets qui précèdent et qui suivent celui-ci parlent du roi, il semble plus naturel d'envisager aussi ce vœu comme le concernant. Dans ce cas, ce trait, véritablement messianique, accentue le caractère prophétique du psaume entier.
