Qu'il soit comme la pluie. L'image de campagnes fertiles (verset 3) est toujours devant les veux du psalmiste ; la bénédiction qu'attire sur le pays un roi juste est comparée à la pluie qui fait repousser l'herbe après qu'on l'a fauchée. David, dans le tableau qu'il fait, avant de mourir, d'un règne juste, emploie des images analogues (2Samuel 23.4).
