On ne peut donc tirer de notre verset 11 la conclusion que le catalogue versets 3 à 17 mentionne la population de Jérusalem d'avant l'exil. Il faut sans doute lire, d'après Néhémie 11.11, Séraïa au lieu d'Azaria.Prince de la maison de Dieu, qui est le titre du souverain sacrificateur (2Chroniques 31.13), s'applique ici non pas à Azaria, mais à son ancêtre Ahitub.
