World English Bible If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth.

Grec : "Nous ne faisons pas la vérité."

Le Dieu qui est lumière a créé l'homme à son image pour refléter comme un miroir sa lumière, ses perfections, et l'a régénéré en Jésus-Christ pour la même fin.

Quiconque donc demeure en communion vivante avec Dieu, est, par degrés, toujours plus entièrement pénétré de cette lumière, jusqu'à ce que les ténèbres soient vaincues et dissipées. Prétendre à cette communion et marcher dans les ténèbres, est une contradiction et un mensonge.

Seulement cette expression : marcher dans les ténèbres, ne signifie pas tomber involontairement dans quelque faute, quelque péché ; car, à ce prix, nul ne serait en communion avec Dieu ; mais elle signifie soustraire sciemment et volontairement à la lumière divine quelque partie de notre être ou de notre vie, par une secrète préférence pour l'erreur et le péché (Jean 3.19 et suivants) Ainsi profonde horreur pour tout péché reconnu tel, vigilance et combat pour l'éviter, voilà ce qui découle nécessairement de la communion avec le Dieu qui est lumière.
