Celui qui est en vous, c'est Dieu qui habite, par son Saint-Esprit, dans l'âme de ceux qui sont "nés de lui." (1Jean 2.20,27 ; comparez 1Jean 3.9)

Par sa présence il leur atteste qu'ils sont de Dieu (versets 1,3) et il leur donne l'assurance d'une pleine victoire, puisque lui, qui est en eux, est plus grand, plus puissant que le prince de ce monde.

Cette victoire sur les prophètes de mensonge, ils l'ont déjà remportée et ils la remporteront jusqu'au bout, c'est ce qu'implique le verbe au parfait. (Comparer 1Jean 2.12,13 ; Jean 16.33)
