World English Bible The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army; and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.

La malignité demeure dans le cœur incrédule, et l'on devrait être méfiant envers ceux qui, comme Shimhi, nous ont manifesté leur hostilité, sans en exprimer le moindre repentir.

Aucun engagement ni danger ne sauront retenir les hommes du monde ; ils continuent à errer dans leurs voies, sans se soucier de leur vie et de leur âme. Gardons bien à l'esprit que Dieu ne fera preuve d'aucune faiblesse dans Ses jugements à notre égard. Son « œil » est au-dessus de nous ; efforçons-nous de marcher en Sa présence. Que chacune de nos initiatives, de nos paroles et de nos pensées, soit régie par cette grande vérité ; et l'heure approche où les plus petits faits marquants de nos vies seront mis en évidence, et où notre sort éternel sera fixé par un Dieu juste et infaillible.

Le trône de Salomon fut ainsi établi dans la paix, image du Royaume du Rédempteur de Paix et de toute Droiture. Et il est réconfortant, face à l'inimitié des ennemis qui se déchaînent contre l'église, de voir que leur hostilité sera de toute façon vaine. Le trône de Christ est maintenant établi, et Ses opposants ne pourront jamais l'ébranler !
