Et David s'enfuit. Cette fois David comprend qu'il ne peut rester dans la position dans laquelle il avait jusqu'ici persévéré malgré les tentatives meurtrières de Saül.

Et s'échappa cette nuit-là. On peut voir dans ces mots soit le simple développement du mot s'enfuit, soit l'indication anticipée du résultat du récit suivant.
