World English Bible The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.

Et la colère de l'Etemel s'enflamma. Nous avons vu 10.32 que l'Eternel punit Jéhu pour avoir persévéré dans la voie de Jéroboam, en mutilant Israël par la perte de tout le pays au-delà du Jourdain. Comme Joachaz persévère dans le péché de son père, la colère de Dieu s'enflamme toujours plus, et les victoires des Syriens réduisent sa puissance à peu près à rien (verset 7).

Pendant tout ce temps : pendant le règne de Joachaz en Israël, celui d'Hazaël et le commencement de Ben-Hadad en Syrie.

Ben-Hadad : peut-être encore en tant que général, sous le règne de son père (voir versets 24 et 25).
