Les anges n'ont pas été mentionnés dans le tableau de Apocalypse 4 ; ils apparaissent aux regards de Jean au moment où il entend leur chant.

Les rachetés sont plus près du trône de Dieu que les anges eux-mêmes (comparez verset 13 note, et Hébreux 2.5 et suivants note) ; ceux-ci vont chanter à leur tour la rédemption du monde. (verset 14)
