Pensée basse. La perspective de n'être remboursé qu'après un temps assez long pouvait arrêter celui à qui on demandait un prêt, surtout puisqu'il n'était pas permis de faire payer un intérêt à l'Israélite (23.19 ; Lévitique 25.36). Mais ce serait là une pensée basse, littéralement de bélial, de nulle valeur. Voir le sens de cette expression à 13.14.

Que ton œil ne soit sans pitié ; il y a littéralement : ne soit mauvais. Comparez l'expression : Ton œil est-il mauvais ?Matthieu 20.15.
