1. Probablement fils de Barzillaï qui avait témoigné de la bonté à David et fut admis à sa cour (2Sa 19:37-40,1Ro 2:7).

2. Lieu de repos pour les voyageurs, près de Bethléhem : (Jer 41:17). halte (Vers. Syn.), hôtellerie (Sg.), caravansérail (Cramp.), bergerie (Ost. conserve le mot hébreu : Guéruthé-Kimham). Son nom semble rattacher cette étape au souvenir du personnage (n° 1)
