Ville des monts de Juda (Jos 15:55) - David fuyant devant Saül trouva un refuge dans les déserts de Ziph (1Sa 23:14,24 26:1) ; retraite que les habitants, les Ziphiens, dévoilèrent à Saül (1Sa 23:19 26:1, Ps 54:2). Cette ville fut plus tard fortifiée par Roboam (2Ch 11:8). Aujourd'hui Tell Zîf, à 6 km. au Sud-E. d'Hébron.

      15 David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the wood.
