Ecclésiaste 11.3

Quand les nuages sont pleins, il pleut à verse sur la terre. L’arbre reste à l’endroit où il est tombé, que ce soit vers le sud ou vers le nord.
אִם־יִמָּלְא֨וּ הֶעָבִ֥ים גֶּ֙שֶׁם֙ עַל־הָאָ֣רֶץ יָרִ֔יקוּ וְאִם־יִפּ֥וֹל עֵ֛ץ בַּדָּר֖וֹם וְאִ֣ם בַּצָּפ֑וֹן מְק֛וֹם שֶׁיִּפּ֥וֹל הָעֵ֖ץ שָׁ֥ם יְהֽוּא׃

Segond 21 Quand les nuages sont gorgés d’eau, ils la déversent sur la terre. Si un arbre tombe, que ce soit au sud ou au nord, il reste là où il est tombé.

World English Bible If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there shall it be.

Cet arbre qui tombe et gît inerte, c'est le riche qui meurt et ne peut plus faire de bien.
