World English Bible Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore they shall know in that day that I am he who speaks; behold, it is I."

Le nom de Dieu outragé (verset 5) va être glorifié par la délivrance de son peuple.

En ce jour... : celui de cette délivrance.

Me voici. Ce mot résume toute la bonne nouvelle qui va être annoncée dans les versets suivants. Le salut, c'est en effet la venue et la parfaite manifestation de Dieu (verset 8 ; 40.5,9). Il est évident que le retour de Babylone n'a réalisé que dans une bien faible mesure de telles prophéties. Elles ne s'accompliront pleinement qu'aux derniers temps, par la glorieuse apparition de Dieu en la personne du Roi d'Israël, du Christ.
