De qui... ? contre qui... ? La réponse sous-entendue est la même que celle qui est donnée à une question semblable 37.23. Les railleries et les outrages que le prophète subit de la part du peuple remontent jusqu'à celui qui l'a envoyé, le Saint d'Israël.

Race de menteurs, c'est-à-dire race d'infidèles, d'idolâtres (comparez 1.4). On peut aussi entendre : race fausse, bâtarde, sens qui ferait ressortir tout ce qu'ont d'odieux et de ridicule leurs injures à l'adresse de ceux qui sont les vrais fils de Jéhova.
