Les choses que je te fais voir arriveront, mais seulement au moment fixé. Elles vont bientôt se réaliser, ce n’est pas un mensonge. Attends avec confiance, même si c’est long. Oui, c’est sûr, elles arriveront sans retard.

World English Bible For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay.

Ce verset donne la raison de cet ordre. La prédiction se rapporte à un temps fixé par Dieu pour son accomplissement, et qui est encore éloigné ; elle a hâte d'arriver à son terme, qui est la fin des temps, les temps messianiques, s'il s'agit de sa complète réalisation (Daniel 8.17-19 ; 11.35). Les expressions du prophète personnifient la prophétie et la représentent comme animée du désir vivant de s'accomplir.

Si elle tarde. La foi à la parole qui va suivre, doit inspirer au fidèle la persévérance nécessaire pendant tout cet intervalle.
