Ce verset est destiné à confirmer les promesses des versets 2 à 4 : les dieux des peuples sont néant ; ils ne peuvent donc rien contre le peuple qui marche au nom de l'Eternel, c'est-à-dire dans la force du Dieu vivant. Celui qui marche en ce nom, subsiste éternellement. Comparez 1Samuel 17.45 ; Zacharie 10.12.
