Les chrétiens sont les vrais circoncis, parce qu'ils le sont spirituellement, dans le cœur. (Romains 2.28,29 ; Colossiens 2.11)

Dès lors leur culte est vivifié par l'Esprit de Dieu (vrai texte ; comparez Jean 4.23,24) ; et ils se glorifient en Christ Jésus seul, parce qu'ils ont en lui la rédemption et la justification, (1Corinthiens 1.31 ; 2Corinthiens 10.17) et non en la chair, comme les Juifs qui mettaient leur confiance dans la circoncision et en d'autres privilèges extérieurs. (Galates 3.3 ; 6.13)
