Comparer Philippiens 3.17, note. L'apôtre poursuit son exhortation de verset 8. Ces choses, ou ces vertus chrétiennes, les Philippiens les avaient apprises, reçues, entendues par son enseignement et les avaient vues dans sa conduite ; donc, ils pouvaient et devaient les faire eux-mêmes.

Le Dieu de la paix : beau et précieux nom du Dieu de l'Evangile qui donne la paix ! S'il est avec nous, la promesse exprimée à verset 7 sera pleinement accomplie.
