    • Exode 16

      1 Les Israélites partent d’Élim. Le deuxième mois après la sortie d’Égypte, le 15 du mois, toute la communauté d’Israël arrive au désert de Sin. Celui-ci est situé entre Élim et le mont Sinaï.
      2 Là, dans le désert, toute la communauté d’Israël parle contre Moïse et Aaron.
      3 Ils disent : « Le SEIGNEUR aurait dû nous faire mourir en Égypte. Là-bas, nous étions assis près de nos marmites pleines de viande et nous avions assez à manger. Mais vous nous avez fait venir dans ce désert pour nous laisser tous mourir de faim ! »
      4 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Pour vous, je vais faire pleuvoir de la nourriture du haut du ciel. Chaque jour, les gens sortiront du camp. Ils ramasseront ce qu’il faut pour une journée. Ainsi, je verrai ce que vous valez et je saurai si vous suivez ma loi, oui ou non.
      5 Le sixième jour, quand vous préparerez ce que vous aurez rapporté, il y en aura deux fois plus que les autres jours. »
      6 Moïse et Aaron disent à tous les Israélites : « Ce soir, vous saurez que c’est le SEIGNEUR qui vous a fait sortir d’Égypte.
      7 Et demain matin, vous verrez sa gloire, car il vous a entendus parler contre lui. Vous parlez contre nous, pourquoi donc ? Nous, nous ne sommes pas importants. »
      8 Puis Moïse continue : « Vous verrez que c’est le SEIGNEUR, quand il vous donnera de la viande à manger, le soir, et tout le pain que vous voulez, le matin. Oui, le SEIGNEUR vous a entendus parler contre lui. Nous, nous ne sommes pas importants. Ce n’est pas contre nous que vous avez parlé, c’est bien contre le SEIGNEUR. »
      9 Ensuite, Moïse dit à Aaron : « Le SEIGNEUR a entendu toute la communauté d’Israël parler contre lui. Dis-leur de venir devant lui ! »
      10 Aaron parle à toute la communauté. Pendant ce temps, les Israélites regardent dans la direction du désert. Tout à coup, ils voient la gloire du SEIGNEUR dans le nuage de fumée.
      11 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse :
      12 « J’ai entendu les Israélites parler contre moi. Tu leur diras : “Ce soir, vous mangerez de la viande, et demain matin, vous aurez tout le pain que vous voulez. Ainsi, vous saurez que le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, c’est moi.” »
      13 Le soir, des cailles arrivent et elles se posent sur tout le camp. Le matin, le sol est mouillé tout autour du camp.
      14 Quand le sol redevient sec, des petits grains blancs, très fins, restent par terre.
      15 Les Israélites regardent et se disent entre eux : « Qu’est-ce que c’est ? » En effet, ils ne savent pas ce que c’est. Mais Moïse leur dit : « C’est le pain que le SEIGNEUR vous donne à manger.
      16 Voici ce que le SEIGNEUR commande : “Chacun doit ramasser ce qui lui est nécessaire. Prenez-en à peu près une mesure par personne. Tenez compte du nombre de personnes qui vivent dans la même tente.” »

      1 וַיִּסְעוּ֙ מֵֽאֵילִ֔ם וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ כָּל־עֲדַ֤ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־מִדְבַּר־סִ֔ין אֲשֶׁ֥ר בֵּין־אֵילִ֖ם וּבֵ֣ין סִינָ֑י בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה עָשָׂ֥ר יוֹם֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י לְצֵאתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      2 *וילינו **וַיִּלּ֜וֹנוּ כָּל־עֲדַ֧ת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל עַל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
      3 וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֲלֵהֶ֜ם בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מִֽי־יִתֵּ֨ן מוּתֵ֤נוּ בְיַד־יְהוָה֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּשִׁבְתֵּ֙נוּ֙ עַל־סִ֣יר הַבָּשָׂ֔ר בְּאָכְלֵ֥נוּ לֶ֖חֶם לָשֹׂ֑בַע כִּֽי־הוֹצֵאתֶ֤ם אֹתָ֙נוּ֙ אֶל־הַמִּדְבָּ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה לְהָמִ֛ית אֶת־כָּל־הַקָּהָ֥ל הַזֶּ֖ה בָּרָעָֽב׃
      4 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מַמְטִ֥יר לָכֶ֛ם לֶ֖חֶם מִן־הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְיָצָ֨א הָעָ֤ם וְלָֽקְטוּ֙ דְּבַר־י֣וֹם בְּיוֹמ֔וֹ לְמַ֧עַן אֲנַסֶּ֛נּוּ הֲיֵלֵ֥ךְ בְּתוֹרָתִ֖י אִם־לֹֽא׃
      5 וְהָיָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י וְהֵכִ֖ינוּ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־יָבִ֑יאוּ וְהָיָ֣ה מִשְׁנֶ֔ה עַ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר־יִלְקְט֖וּ י֥וֹם ׀ יֽוֹם׃

      7 וּבֹ֗קֶר וּרְאִיתֶם֙ אֶת־כְּב֣וֹד יְהוָ֔ה בְּשָׁמְע֥וֹ אֶת־תְּלֻנֹּתֵיכֶ֖ם עַל־יְהוָ֑ה וְנַ֣חְנוּ מָ֔ה כִּ֥י *תלונו **תַלִּ֖ינוּ עָלֵֽינוּ׃
      8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֗ה בְּתֵ֣ת יְהוָה֩ לָכֶ֨ם בָּעֶ֜רֶב בָּשָׂ֣ר לֶאֱכֹ֗ל וְלֶ֤חֶם בַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ לִשְׂבֹּ֔עַ בִּשְׁמֹ֤עַ יְהוָה֙ אֶת־תְּלֻנֹּ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֥ם מַלִּינִ֖ם עָלָ֑יו וְנַ֣חְנוּ מָ֔ה לֹא־עָלֵ֥ינוּ תְלֻנֹּתֵיכֶ֖ם כִּ֥י עַל־יְהוָֽה׃

    • Exode 16

      1 They took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
      2 The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;
      3 and the children of Israel said to them, "We wish that we had died by the hand of Yahweh in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."
      4 Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from the sky for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.
      5 It shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily."
      6 Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, "At evening, then you shall know that Yahweh has brought you out from the land of Egypt;
      7 and in the morning, then you shall see the glory of Yahweh; because he hears your murmurings against Yahweh. Who are we, that you murmur against us?"
      8 Moses said, "Now Yahweh shall give you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to satisfy you; because Yahweh hears your murmurings which you murmur against him. And who are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against Yahweh."
      9 Moses said to Aaron, "Tell all the congregation of the children of Israel, 'Come near before Yahweh, for he has heard your murmurings.'"
      10 It happened, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Yahweh appeared in the cloud.
      11 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
      12 "I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, 'At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread: and you shall know that I am Yahweh your God.'"
      13 It happened at evening that quail came up and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay around the camp.
      14 When the dew that lay had gone, behold, on the surface of the wilderness was a small round thing, small as the frost on the ground.
      15 When the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, "What is it?" For they didn't know what it was. Moses said to them, "It is the bread which Yahweh has given you to eat."
      16 This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded: "Gather of it everyone according to his eating; an omer a head, according to the number of your persons, you shall take it, every man for those who are in his tent."
