    • Exode 7

      15 Va donc le trouver le matin, au moment où il descend près de l’eau. Attends-le au bord du Nil. Prends à la main le bâton qui est devenu un serpent.
      16 Et dis au roi : “Le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu des Hébreux, m’a envoyé te dire : Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve au désert. Mais jusqu’ici, tu n’as pas écouté.
      17 C’est pourquoi le SEIGNEUR le dit : cette fois-ci tu reconnaîtras qui il est. Je vais frapper l’eau du Nil avec le bâton que j’ai dans la main, et elle va devenir du sang.
      18 Les poissons vont mourir, le fleuve sera empoisonné et les Égyptiens ne pourront plus boire son eau.” »
      19 Le SEIGNEUR dit encore à Moïse : « Commande à Aaron de prendre son bâton. Qu’il tende le bras en direction de tous les cours d’eau d’Égypte, vers les rivières, les canaux, et même vers les lacs. Alors cette eau deviendra du sang. Ainsi, il y aura du sang dans tout le pays, jusque dans les récipients en bois ou en pierre. »
      20 Moïse et Aaron font ce que le SEIGNEUR a commandé. Aaron lève son bâton et il frappe l’eau du Nil sous les yeux du roi d’Égypte et des gens qui l’entourent. Toute l’eau du fleuve devient du sang.
      21 Les poissons meurent, le fleuve sent très mauvais, et les Égyptiens ne peuvent plus boire son eau. Il y a du sang dans tout le pays.
      22 Or, les magiciens égyptiens font la même chose grâce à leur magie, et le cœur du roi reste fermé. Il n’écoute pas la demande de Moïse et d’Aaron, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a annoncé.
      23 Le roi d’Égypte leur tourne le dos et il rentre chez lui sans prendre cette affaire au sérieux.
      24 Tous les Égyptiens se mettent à creuser des trous au bord du Nil, pour avoir de l’eau bonne à boire. En effet, ils ne peuvent pas boire l’eau du fleuve.
      25 Sept jours passent après que le SEIGNEUR a frappé le Nil de ce malheur.
      26 Ensuite, le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Va trouver le roi d’Égypte et dis-lui : “Voici l’ordre du SEIGNEUR : Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve.
      27 Si tu refuses de le laisser partir, je couvrirai toute l’Égypte de grenouilles.
      28 Elles rempliront le Nil, puis elles sortiront pour entrer dans ton palais, dans ta chambre à coucher et jusque dans ton lit. Les grenouilles entreront chez les gens qui t’entourent et dans les maisons des Égyptiens, dans les fours et dans les coffres à pain.
      29 Elles monteront sur toi, sur les Égyptiens et sur ceux qui t’entourent.” »

      Exode 8

      1 Le SEIGNEUR dit encore à Moïse : « Commande à Aaron d’étendre son bras et de diriger son bâton vers les rivières, les canaux et les lacs. Alors les grenouilles couvriront toute l’Égypte. »
      2 Aaron étend son bras vers les cours d’eau d’Égypte. Des grenouilles en sortent et couvrent tout le pays.
      3 Or, les magiciens égyptiens font la même chose grâce à leur magie. Eux aussi font sortir les grenouilles dans tout le pays.
      4 Le roi d’Égypte appelle Moïse et Aaron et il leur dit : « Priez le SEIGNEUR pour qu’il éloigne les grenouilles de moi et de mon peuple. Ensuite, je laisserai les Israélites partir pour aller lui offrir des sacrifices. »
      5 Moïse répond : « Accepte de me dire le moment où je dois prier Dieu pour toi, pour les gens qui t’entourent et pour ton peuple. Je vais lui demander de faire mourir les grenouilles qui sont chez toi et dans tes palais. Alors il y en aura seulement dans le Nil. »
      6 Le roi répond : « Fais cela demain. » Moïse dit : « Je ferai comme tu veux. Alors tu le sauras : personne n’est comme le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu.
      7 Les grenouilles s’éloigneront de chez toi et de tes palais. Les gens qui t’entourent et ton peuple en seront débarrassés. Il y en aura seulement dans le Nil. »
      8 Moïse et Aaron sortent de chez le roi d’Égypte. Moïse prie le SEIGNEUR de délivrer le roi du malheur qu’il a causé en envoyant les grenouilles.
      9 Le SEIGNEUR fait ce que Moïse lui demande. Les grenouilles meurent dans les maisons, dans les cours et dans les champs.
      10 On en fait des tas et des tas, et le pays est rempli de leur mauvaise odeur.
      11 Le roi d’Égypte voit qu’il a encore du temps. Alors il ne veut rien entendre. Il n’écoute pas Moïse et Aaron, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a annoncé.
      12 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Commande à Aaron d’étendre son bâton et de frapper la poussière du sol. Elle se changera en puces dans toute l’Égypte. »
      13 Moïse et Aaron obéissent. Aaron étend le bras et, avec son bâton, il frappe la poussière du sol. Dans toute l’Égypte, toute la poussière du sol se change en puces. Et les puces couvrent les gens et les animaux.
      14 Les magiciens égyptiens essaient à leur tour de chasser les puces grâce à leur magie, mais ils n’y arrivent pas. Les puces restent sur les gens et sur les animaux.
      15 Alors les magiciens disent au roi d’Égypte : « C’est la puissance de Dieu ! » Pourtant, le cœur du roi reste fermé. Il n’écoute pas Moïse et Aaron, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a annoncé.
      16 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Demain, lève-toi tôt le matin et présente-toi au roi d’Égypte quand il descendra au bord du Nil. Tu lui diras de ma part : “Voici ce que moi, le SEIGNEUR, je commande : Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve.
      17 Si tu refuses de le laisser partir, je vais envoyer des mouches piquantes sur les gens qui t’entourent, sur ton peuple et dans tes palais. Elles rempliront les maisons des Égyptiens et elles couvriront le sol de l’Égypte.
      18 Pourtant, ce jour-là, je ferai une différence pour la région de Gochen, où mon peuple habite. Là-bas, il n’y aura pas de mouches piquantes. De cette façon, tu sauras que moi, le SEIGNEUR, je suis présent dans ton pays.
      19 Ainsi, grâce à moi, mon peuple ne connaîtra pas le malheur de ton peuple. Tu verras cette action étonnante demain.” »
      20 Le SEIGNEUR fait ce qu’il a dit : un nuage de mouches piquantes entre dans la maison du roi d’Égypte, dans la maison des gens qui l’entourent et dans tout le pays. Les mouches font beaucoup de dégâts dans le pays.
      21 Le roi appelle Moïse et Aaron. Il leur dit : « Allez offrir des sacrifices à votre Dieu, mais faites-le dans le pays ! »
      22 Moïse répond : « Non, nous ne pouvons pas agir de cette façon. En effet, les Égyptiens détestent les sacrifices que nous offrons au SEIGNEUR notre Dieu. S’ils nous voient offrir ces sacrifices, ils nous tueront en nous jetant des pierres.
      23 Nous devons aller dans le désert, à trois jours de marche. Là, nous offrirons au SEIGNEUR notre Dieu les sacrifices qu’il nous montrera. »
      24 Le roi leur dit : « Je vais vous laisser partir, et vous offrirez vos sacrifices au SEIGNEUR votre Dieu dans le désert. Mais n’allez pas trop loin ! Priez pour moi. »
      25 Moïse répond : « Dès que je serai sorti de chez toi, je prierai le SEIGNEUR. Demain, il chassera les mouches loin de toi, loin des gens qui t’entourent et de ton peuple. Mais il ne faut pas que tu te moques de nous en refusant aux Israélites de partir pour aller offrir des sacrifices au SEIGNEUR. »
      26 Moïse quitte le roi d’Égypte et il prie le SEIGNEUR.
      27 Le SEIGNEUR fait ce que Moïse lui demande. Il chasse les mouches loin du roi, loin des gens qui l’entourent et de son peuple. Il n’en reste plus une seule.
      28 Pourtant, même cette fois-là, le roi d’Égypte ne veut rien entendre et il ne laisse pas partir les Israélites.

      Exode 9

      1 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Va trouver le roi d’Égypte et dis-lui : “Voici l’ordre du SEIGNEUR, le Dieu des Hébreux : Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve.
      2 Si tu refuses toujours de le laisser partir, si tu continues à le retenir,
      3 moi, le SEIGNEUR, je vais agir contre tes troupeaux qui sont dans les champs. J’enverrai une peste très grave qui rendra malades tes chevaux, tes ânes, tes chameaux, tes bœufs, tes moutons et tes chèvres.
      4 Mais moi, le SEIGNEUR, je ferai une différence entre les troupeaux des Israélites et les troupeaux des Égyptiens. Aucun animal appartenant aux Israélites ne mourra.” »
      5 De plus, le SEIGNEUR précise le moment où cela doit arriver : « C’est demain que j’agirai ainsi en Égypte. »
      6 Le jour suivant, le SEIGNEUR envoie la peste : tous les troupeaux des Égyptiens meurent, mais aucun animal n’est touché par cette maladie dans les troupeaux des Israélites.
      7 Le roi se renseigne. Il apprend alors qu’il n’y a pas un seul animal mort dans les troupeaux des Israélites. Pourtant, le cœur du roi d’Égypte reste fermé, et il ne laisse pas partir les Israélites.
      8 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse et à Aaron : « Prenez dans vos mains de la cendre d’un feu. Moïse la lancera en l’air devant le roi d’Égypte.
      9 Cette cendre se répandra dans toute l’Égypte. Ensuite, dans tout le pays, les personnes et les animaux auront sur la peau des boutons qui formeront des plaies. »
      10 Moïse et Aaron prennent de la cendre et ils vont voir le roi. Moïse la lance en l’air. Alors les personnes et les animaux ont sur la peau des boutons qui forment des plaies.
      11 Les magiciens égyptiens ne peuvent pas se présenter devant Moïse à cause de ces boutons. En effet, ils en sont couverts, comme les autres Égyptiens.
      12 Pourtant, le SEIGNEUR ferme le cœur du roi d’Égypte. Et le roi n’écoute pas Moïse et Aaron, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a annoncé à Moïse.
      13 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Demain, lève-toi tôt le matin et présente-toi devant le roi d’Égypte. Tu lui diras de ma part : “Voici ce que moi, le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu des Hébreux, je commande : Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve.
      14 En effet, cette fois-ci, je vous enverrai toutes sortes de malheurs, à toi, aux gens qui t’entourent et à ton peuple. Alors tu le sauras : sur la terre, personne n’est comme moi.
      15 Si j’avais tendu le bras pour vous frapper d’une épidémie de peste, toi et ton peuple, vous ne seriez plus sur la terre.
      16 Mais je t’ai laissé vivre pour te montrer ma puissance et pour faire connaître mon nom sur toute la terre.
      17 Pourtant, tu continues à refuser de laisser partir mon peuple.
      18 C’est pourquoi demain, à cette heure-ci, je vais faire pleuvoir de la grêle. Cette pluie sera si violente qu’il n’y a jamais eu une pluie pareille depuis que l’Égypte existe.
      19 Maintenant, fais mettre à l’abri tes troupeaux et tout ce qui t’appartient dans les champs. Si des gens ou des animaux ne se mettent pas à l’abri, s’ils restent dans les champs, ils mourront sous la pluie de grêle.” »
      20 Certains parmi les gens qui entourent le roi d’Égypte prennent au sérieux ces paroles du SEIGNEUR. Ils commandent à leurs serviteurs de se mettre à l’abri avec leurs troupeaux.
      21 Mais d’autres n’y font pas attention. Ils laissent leurs serviteurs et leurs troupeaux dans les champs.
      22 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Lève ton bras vers le ciel. Que la grêle tombe sur toute l’Égypte, sur les gens et les animaux, et sur toutes les cultures du pays ! »
      23 Moïse lève son bâton vers le ciel. Le SEIGNEUR envoie le tonnerre et la grêle. La foudre tombe sur la terre, et le SEIGNEUR fait pleuvoir la grêle sur le pays.
      24 Depuis que l’Égypte existe comme nation, les Égyptiens n’ont jamais vu un orage aussi violent : grêle, foudre et glace en même temps.
      25 Dans toute l’Égypte, la grêle frappe tous ceux qui sont dans les champs : gens et bêtes. Elle écrase toutes les cultures et elle casse tous les arbres.
      26 La région de Gochen, là où les Israélites habitent, est le seul endroit où la grêle ne tombe pas.
      27 Le roi d’Égypte fait appeler Moïse et Aaron. Il leur dit : « Cette fois-ci, j’ai eu tort. Moi et mon peuple, nous sommes coupables. C’est le SEIGNEUR qui a agi avec justice.
      28 Priez le SEIGNEUR d’arrêter le tonnerre et la grêle. Je vais vous laisser partir, vous ne resterez pas plus longtemps ici. »
      29 Moïse répond : « Dès que je serai sorti de la ville, je lèverai les mains vers le SEIGNEUR pour le prier. Le tonnerre et la grêle s’arrêteront. Alors tu sauras que la terre appartient au SEIGNEUR.
      30 Mais je sais une chose : toi et les gens qui t’entourent, vous ne respecterez pas encore le SEIGNEUR Dieu. »
      31 Le lin et l’orge ont été détruits. En effet, l’orge était en épis et le lin était en fleurs.
      32 Mais les céréales comme le blé et l’épeautre n’ont pas été détruites parce qu’elles poussent plus tard.
      33 Moïse quitte le roi d’Égypte et il sort de la ville. Il lève les mains vers le SEIGNEUR pour le prier. Alors le tonnerre et la grêle s’arrêtent et la pluie ne tombe plus.
      34 Le roi voit que la pluie, la grêle et le tonnerre se sont arrêtés. Pourtant, il commet la même faute qu’avant : lui et les gens qui l’entourent ne veulent rien entendre.
      35 Le cœur du roi d’Égypte reste fermé. Il ne laisse pas partir les Israélites, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a annoncé par l’intermédiaire de Moïse.

      Exode 10

      1 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Va chez le roi d’Égypte. C’est moi qui ai fermé le cœur du roi et des gens qui l’entourent. Alors j’ai pu faire des choses extraordinaires au milieu d’eux.
      2 Ainsi, tu pourras raconter à tes enfants et aux enfants de leurs enfants ce que j’ai fait aux Égyptiens, les actions extraordinaires que j’ai accomplies dans leur pays. De cette façon, vous saurez que le SEIGNEUR, c’est moi. »
      3 Moïse et Aaron vont trouver le roi d’Égypte et ils lui disent : « Voici ce que le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu des Hébreux, te demande : “Est-ce que tu vas refuser encore longtemps de m’obéir ? Laisse partir mon peuple pour qu’il me serve.
      4 Si tu refuses toujours de le laisser partir, demain, je ferai venir les sauterelles dans ton pays.
      5 Elles couvriront complètement le sol, et on ne le verra plus. Les sauterelles mangeront le reste des cultures que la grêle n’a pas détruites. Elles ne laisseront rien sur vos arbres qui poussent dans les champs.
      6 Elles rempliront tes palais, les maisons des gens qui t’entourent et celles de tous les Égyptiens. Ce sera un très grand malheur. On n’a jamais vu un malheur aussi grand depuis le temps de vos ancêtres jusqu’à ce jour.” » Moïse quitte le roi et il sort du palais.
      7 Les gens qui entourent le roi lui disent : « Cet homme va causer notre malheur jusqu’à quand ? Laisse donc partir les Israélites pour qu’ils servent le SEIGNEUR leur Dieu. L’Égypte va à sa perte, tu ne sais donc pas cela ? »
      8 On fait revenir Moïse et Aaron près du roi d’Égypte. Celui-ci leur dit : « Vous pouvez aller servir le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu. Mais qui va partir ? »
      9 Moïse répond : « Nous partirons tous, enfants et vieillards, hommes et femmes, avec nos moutons, nos chèvres et nos bœufs. En effet, nous devons faire une fête en l’honneur du SEIGNEUR. »
      10 Le roi d’Égypte leur répond : « Eh bien, qu’il veille sur vous, votre SEIGNEUR ! Vous croyez peut-être que je vais vous laisser partir avec vos familles ! Vous avez de mauvaises intentions.
      11 Cela ne se passera pas ainsi ! Seuls les hommes iront servir le SEIGNEUR, puisque c’est ce que vous voulez. » Et on les chasse de chez le roi.
      12 Alors le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Étends ton bras sur l’Égypte pour faire venir les sauterelles. Qu’elles couvrent le pays et mangent toutes les plantes que la grêle a laissées. »
      13 Moïse étend son bâton sur l’Égypte, et le SEIGNEUR envoie un vent d’est sur tout le pays, pendant toute la journée et toute la nuit. Le matin suivant, le vent amène les sauterelles.
      14 Elles couvrent toute l’Égypte et se posent partout. Elles sont très nombreuses. On n’en a jamais vu autant et on n’en verra jamais autant plus tard.
      15 Elles couvrent le pays entier, et on ne voit plus le sol. Elles mangent toute l’herbe et tous les fruits des arbres que la grêle a laissés. Il ne reste aucune feuille sur les arbres et aucune plante dans les champs.
      16 Le roi d’Égypte appelle rapidement Moïse et Aaron et il leur dit : « J’ai commis une faute contre le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu et contre vous-mêmes.
      17 Maintenant, pardonnez-moi ma faute, cette fois-ci encore. Priez le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu pour qu’il éloigne de moi ce terrible malheur. »
      18 Moïse quitte le roi et il prie le SEIGNEUR.
      19 Alors le SEIGNEUR fait souffler un vent d’ouest très fort. Ce vent emporte les sauterelles et il les repousse vers la mer des Roseaux. Il ne reste plus une seule sauterelle dans toute l’Égypte.
      20 Pourtant, le SEIGNEUR ferme le cœur du roi d’Égypte, et le roi ne laisse pas partir les Israélites.
      21 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Lève ton bras vers le ciel. Que la nuit couvre l’Égypte, une nuit si épaisse qu’on pourra la toucher. »
      22 Moïse lève son bras vers le ciel, et, pendant trois jours, il fait nuit noire dans toute l’Égypte.
      23 Pendant trois jours, les Égyptiens ne se voient plus les uns les autres, et tout le monde reste chez soi. Dans la région où les Israélites habitent, au contraire, il fait jour.
      24 Le roi d’Égypte appelle Moïse et lui dit : « Vous pouvez aller servir le SEIGNEUR. Vos enfants peuvent aller avec vous, mais vos moutons, vos chèvres et vos bœufs doivent rester ici. »
      25 Moïse répond : « Sûrement pas ! Tu nous donneras toi-même les animaux que nous offrirons au SEIGNEUR notre Dieu en sacrifices de communion et en sacrifices complets.
      26 De plus, nous emmènerons nos troupeaux. Aucun animal ne restera ici. Nous devrons prendre plusieurs de ces animaux pour les offrir au SEIGNEUR notre Dieu. Mais avant d’arriver là-bas, nous ne savons pas lesquels nous devons offrir. »
      27 Pourtant, le SEIGNEUR ferme le cœur du roi d’Égypte. Celui-ci ne veut pas laisser partir les Israélites.
      28 Il dit à Moïse : « Va-t’en ! Attention, ne reviens plus te présenter devant moi ! Si tu te présentes encore devant moi, tu mourras ! »
      29 Moïse répond : « En effet, comme tu le dis, je ne me présenterai plus devant toi. »

      Exode 11

      1 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : « Je vais frapper le roi d’Égypte et les Égyptiens par un dernier malheur. Après cela, il vous laissera partir, il vous chassera même d’ici pour toujours.
      2 Va donc dire aux Israélites : “Que chaque homme demande à son voisin, que chaque femme demande à sa voisine des objets en argent et en or.” »
      3 Et grâce au SEIGNEUR, les Égyptiens regardent les Israélites avec bonté. D’ailleurs, en Égypte, Moïse lui-même est un homme important pour les gens qui entourent le roi et pour le peuple.
      4 Moïse dit au roi d’Égypte : « Voici ce que le SEIGNEUR dit : “Vers minuit, je traverserai l’Égypte.
      5 Tous les premiers-nés de ce pays mourront : ton fils aîné qui doit être roi après toi, comme le fils aîné de la servante qui écrase le grain. Tous les premiers-nés des troupeaux mourront aussi.
      6 Alors dans toute l’Égypte, il y aura de grands cris. Il n’y a jamais eu de cris aussi grands, et il n’y en aura jamais plus.
      7 Mais chez les Israélites, on n’entendra même pas un chien aboyer contre quelqu’un ou contre un animal. Alors vous saurez ceci : moi, le SEIGNEUR, je fais la différence entre les Égyptiens et les Israélites.” »
      8 Moïse dit encore au roi : « À ce moment-là, tous les gens qui t’entourent ici viendront vers moi. Ils se mettront à genoux devant moi et me diront : “Va-t’en, toi et tout le peuple qui est avec toi !” Et je partirai aussitôt. » Et Moïse, très en colère, sort de chez le roi.
      9 Le SEIGNEUR lui dit ensuite : « Le roi d’Égypte ne veut pas vous écouter. C’est pourquoi je peux faire beaucoup de choses extraordinaires en Égypte. »
      10 En réalité, Moïse et son frère Aaron ont accompli toutes sortes de choses extraordinaires devant le roi d’Égypte. Pourtant le SEIGNEUR lui ferme le cœur, et le roi ne laisse pas partir les Israélites de son pays.

      Exode 12

      1 Le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse et à Aaron en Égypte :
      2 « Ce mois-ci marquera pour vous le début de l’année. Ce sera le premier mois.
      3 Allez dire à toute la communauté d’Israël : Le 10 de ce mois, prenez un agneau ou un cabri par famille ou par maison.
      4 Si une famille est trop petite pour manger un animal entier, elle se mettra d’accord avec une famille voisine, en tenant compte du nombre de personnes. Vous choisirez l’animal d’après ce que chacun peut manger.
      5 Vous choisirez un mouton ou un cabri d’un an, mâle, sans défaut.
      6 Vous le garderez jusqu’au 14 du mois. Le soir de ce jour-là, dans la communauté d’Israël rassemblée, vous égorgerez l’animal choisi.
      7 Vous prendrez son sang. Et dans chaque maison où on mangera un de ces animaux, on couvrira de sang les deux montants et la poutre au-dessus de la porte d’entrée.
      8 On fera griller la viande, puis, pendant la nuit, on la mangera avec des pains sans levain et des herbes amères.
      9 Vous ne mangerez pas la viande crue, ni bouillie. Vous la ferez griller sur le feu avec la tête, les pattes et les autres morceaux de l’animal.
      10 Vous ne garderez rien pour le jour suivant. S’il reste quelque chose le matin, vous le brûlerez.
      11 Voici dans quelle tenue vous mangerez ce repas : les vêtements serrés autour de la taille, les sandales aux pieds et un bâton à la main pour marcher. Vous mangerez vite. Ce sera la Pâque, une fête pour moi, le SEIGNEUR.
      12 « Cette nuit-là, je traverserai l’Égypte et je ferai mourir tous les premiers-nés de ce pays, les premiers-nés des hommes et aussi des animaux. De cette façon, moi, le SEIGNEUR, je condamnerai tous les faux dieux d’Égypte.
      13 Mais sur les maisons où vous habitez, le sang sera un signe qui vous protégera. Je verrai le sang et je passerai au-dessus de vos maisons sans m’arrêter. Ainsi, quand je frapperai l’Égypte, le malheur qui détruit ne vous atteindra pas.
      14 « Ce jour-là sera pour vous un jour de souvenir, et vous ferez une grande fête pour moi, le SEIGNEUR. C’est une règle pour toujours, vous la respecterez de génération en génération. »
      15 Le Seigneur dit encore à Moïse et à Aaron : « Pendant sept jours, vous mangerez des pains sans levain. Dès le premier jour, vous supprimerez le levain dans vos maisons. Si quelqu’un mange du pain fait avec du levain pendant cette semaine-là, il faut le chasser de la communauté d’Israël.
      16 Le premier et le septième jour, vous vous réunirez en mon honneur. Ces jours-là, vous ne ferez aucun travail. Vous pourrez seulement préparer le repas pour chacun de vous.
      17 « Vous respecterez cette fête des Pains sans levain. Elle rappellera le jour précis où j’ai fait sortir d’Égypte votre peuple en bon ordre. Vous fêterez cet événement de génération en génération. C’est une règle pour toujours.
      18 Le premier mois, le 14 du mois, le soir, et jusqu’au 21 au soir, vous mangerez des pains sans levain.
      19 Pendant sept jours, on ne devra pas trouver de levain dans vos maisons. Si quelqu’un, un étranger installé chez vous ou un Israélite, mange du pain fait avec du levain, il faudra le chasser de la communauté d’Israël.
      20 Vous ne mangerez donc aucune pâte qui contient du levain. Partout où vous habiterez, vous mangerez des pains sans levain. »
      21 Moïse réunit tous les anciens d’Israël. Il leur dit : « Prenez un agneau ou un cabri pour vos familles et égorgez-le pour la fête de la Pâque.
      22 Vous prendrez une branche d’hysope, vous la tremperez dans le récipient qui contient le sang de l’animal. Puis vous couvrirez de sang les deux montants et la poutre au-dessus de la porte d’entrée. Ensuite, personne ne devra sortir de sa maison avant le matin.
      23 Le SEIGNEUR traversera l’Égypte pour punir ses habitants. Mais quand il verra le sang sur les montants et sur la poutre, il passera et il ne laissera pas le Destructeur entrer dans vos maisons.
      24 Pour vous et pour vos enfants, ce commandement est valable pour toujours.
      25 Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays que le SEIGNEUR a promis de vous donner, vous ferez cette cérémonie.
      26 Si vos enfants vous demandent : “Qu’est-ce que cela veut dire ?”,
      27 vous répondrez : “C’est le sacrifice offert au SEIGNEUR pour la fête de la Pâque. Quand nos ancêtres israélites étaient en Égypte, le SEIGNEUR a fait mourir les Égyptiens. Mais il a passé au-dessus de nos maisons sans s’arrêter et il a protégé nos familles.” » Alors les Israélites se mettent à genoux.
      28 Ensuite, ils partent et ils font exactement ce que le SEIGNEUR a commandé à Moïse et à Aaron.
      29 Au milieu de la nuit, le SEIGNEUR fait mourir tous les fils aînés des Égyptiens : le fils aîné du roi d’Égypte qui devait être roi après lui, comme le fils aîné des prisonniers. Il fait aussi mourir les premiers-nés des troupeaux.
      30 Cette nuit-là, le roi, les gens qui l’entourent et tous les Égyptiens se lèvent. Il y a de grands cris dans toute l’Égypte, parce qu’il y a un mort dans chaque maison.
      31 Le roi d’Égypte appelle Moïse et Aaron en pleine nuit et leur dit : « Allez, quittez mon pays, vous et tous les autres Israélites ! Partez servir le SEIGNEUR, comme vous l’avez dit !
      32 Prenez vos bœufs, vos moutons et vos chèvres, comme vous l’avez dit, et partez ! Et demandez à votre Dieu de me bénir. »
      33 Les Égyptiens croient qu’ils vont tous mourir. Alors ils poussent les Israélites à quitter le pays très vite.
      34 C’est pourquoi les Israélites doivent emporter leur pâte à pain avant qu’elle ait levé. Ils enveloppent le coffre à pain dans leurs vêtements et ils l’emportent sur leurs épaules.
      35 Les Israélites ont fait ce que Moïse leur a dit : ils ont demandé aux Égyptiens des objets en argent et en or, et des vêtements.
      36 Le SEIGNEUR a permis que les Égyptiens les regardent avec bonté. De cette façon, les Israélites ont enlevé les richesses des Égyptiens.
      37 Ensuite, les Israélites partent de la ville de Ramsès vers Soukoth. Ils sont à peu près 600 000 hommes, sans compter les femmes, les enfants et les vieillards.

      21 וְהַדָּגָ֨ה אֲשֶׁר־בַּיְאֹ֥ר מֵ֙תָה֙ וַיִּבְאַ֣שׁ הַיְאֹ֔ר וְלֹא־יָכְל֣וּ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִשְׁתּ֥וֹת מַ֖יִם מִן־הַיְאֹ֑ר וַיְהִ֥י הַדָּ֖ם בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      22 וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֛ן חַרְטֻמֵּ֥י מִצְרַ֖יִם בְּלָטֵיהֶ֑ם וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק לֵב־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֣ע אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃
      23 וַיִּ֣פֶן פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־בֵּית֑וֹ וְלֹא־שָׁ֥ת לִבּ֖וֹ גַּם־לָזֹֽאת׃
      24 וַיַּחְפְּר֧וּ כָל־מִצְרַ֛יִם סְבִיבֹ֥ת הַיְאֹ֖ר מַ֣יִם לִשְׁתּ֑וֹת כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָֽכְלוּ֙ לִשְׁתֹּ֔ת מִמֵּימֵ֖י הַיְאֹֽר׃
      25 וַיִּמָּלֵ֖א שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים אַחֲרֵ֥י הַכּוֹת־יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־הַיְאֹֽר׃
      26 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בֹּ֖א אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שַׁלַּ֥ח אֶת־עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃
      27 וְאִם־מָאֵ֥ן אַתָּ֖ה לְשַׁלֵּ֑חַ הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִ֗י נֹגֵ֛ף אֶת־כָּל־גְּבוּלְךָ֖ בַּֽצְפַרְדְּעִֽים׃
      28 וְשָׁרַ֣ץ הַיְאֹר֮ צְפַרְדְּעִים֒ וְעָלוּ֙ וּבָ֣אוּ בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ וּבַחֲדַ֥ר מִשְׁכָּבְךָ֖ וְעַל־מִטָּתֶ֑ךָ וּבְבֵ֤ית עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ וּבְעַמֶּ֔ךָ וּבְתַנּוּרֶ֖יךָ וּבְמִשְׁאֲרוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
      29 וּבְכָ֥ה וּֽבְעַמְּךָ֖ וּבְכָל־עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ יַעֲל֖וּ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִֽים׃

      1 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ אֱמֹ֣ר אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֗ן נְטֵ֤ה אֶת־יָדְךָ֙ בְּמַטֶּ֔ךָ עַל־הַ֨נְּהָרֹ֔ת עַל־הַיְאֹרִ֖ים וְעַל־הָאֲגַמִּ֑ים וְהַ֥עַל אֶת־הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      2 וַיֵּ֤ט אַהֲרֹן֙ אֶת־יָד֔וֹ עַ֖ל מֵימֵ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם וַתַּ֙עַל֙ הַצְּפַרְדֵּ֔עַ וַתְּכַ֖ס אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      3 וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֥ן הַֽחֲרְטֻמִּ֖ים בְּלָטֵיהֶ֑ם וַיַּעֲל֥וּ אֶת־הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      4 וַיִּקְרָ֨א פַרְעֹ֜ה לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֗ן וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הַעְתִּ֣ירוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וְיָסֵר֙ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֔ים מִמֶּ֖נִּי וּמֵֽעַמִּ֑י וַאֲשַׁלְּחָה֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וְיִזְבְּח֖וּ לַיהוָֽה׃
      5 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה לְפַרְעֹה֮ הִתְפָּאֵ֣ר עָלַי֒ לְמָתַ֣י ׀ אַעְתִּ֣יר לְךָ֗ וְלַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ וּֽלְעַמְּךָ֔ לְהַכְרִית֙ הַֽצֲפַרְדְּעִ֔ים מִמְּךָ֖ וּמִבָּתֶּ֑יךָ רַ֥ק בַּיְאֹ֖ר תִּשָּׁאַֽרְנָה׃
      6 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לְמָחָ֑ר וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ כִּדְבָ֣רְךָ֔ לְמַ֣עַן תֵּדַ֔ע כִּי־אֵ֖ין כַּיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
      7 וְסָר֣וּ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֗ים מִמְּךָ֙ וּמִבָּ֣תֶּ֔יךָ וּמֵעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ וּמֵעַמֶּ֑ךָ רַ֥ק בַּיְאֹ֖ר תִּשָּׁאַֽרְנָה׃
      8 וַיֵּצֵ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה וְאַהֲרֹ֖ן מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיִּצְעַ֤ק מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה עַל־דְּבַ֥ר הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֥ם לְפַרְעֹֽה׃
      9 וַיַּ֥עַשׂ יְהוָ֖ה כִּדְבַ֣ר מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיָּמֻ֙תוּ֙ הַֽצְפַרְדְּעִ֔ים מִן־הַבָּתִּ֥ים מִן־הַחֲצֵרֹ֖ת וּמִן־הַשָּׂדֹֽת׃
      10 וַיִּצְבְּר֥וּ אֹתָ֖ם חֳמָרִ֣ם חֳמָרִ֑ם וַתִּבְאַ֖שׁ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      11 וַיַּ֣רְא פַּרְעֹ֗ה כִּ֤י הָֽיְתָה֙ הָֽרְוָחָ֔ה וְהַכְבֵּד֙ אֶת־לִבּ֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃
      12 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ אֱמֹר֙ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן נְטֵ֣ה אֶֽת־מַטְּךָ֔ וְהַ֖ךְ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֑רֶץ וְהָיָ֥ה לְכִנִּ֖ם בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      13 וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֗ן וַיֵּט֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן אֶת־יָד֤וֹ בְמַטֵּ֙הוּ֙ וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֔רֶץ וַתְּהִי֙ הַכִּנָּ֔ם בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה כָּל־עֲפַ֥ר הָאָ֛רֶץ הָיָ֥ה כִנִּ֖ים בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      14 וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵ֨ן הַחַרְטֻמִּ֧ים בְּלָטֵיהֶ֛ם לְהוֹצִ֥יא אֶת־הַכִּנִּ֖ים וְלֹ֣א יָכֹ֑לוּ וַתְּהִי֙ הַכִּנָּ֔ם בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃
      15 וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ הַֽחַרְטֻמִּים֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה אֶצְבַּ֥ע אֱלֹהִ֖ים הִ֑וא וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק לֵב־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְלֹֽא־שָׁמַ֣ע אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃
      16 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הַשְׁכֵּ֤ם בַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ וְהִתְיַצֵּב֙ לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה הִנֵּ֖ה יוֹצֵ֣א הַמָּ֑יְמָה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שַׁלַּ֥ח עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃
      17 כִּ֣י אִם־אֵינְךָ֮ מְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ אֶת־עַמִּי֒ הִנְנִי֩ מַשְׁלִ֨יחַ בְּךָ֜ וּבַעֲבָדֶ֧יךָ וּֽבְעַמְּךָ֛ וּבְבָתֶּ֖יךָ אֶת־הֶעָרֹ֑ב וּמָ֨לְא֜וּ בָּתֵּ֤י מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶת־הֶ֣עָרֹ֔ב וְגַ֥ם הָאֲדָמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֥ם עָלֶֽיהָ׃
      18 וְהִפְלֵיתִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ גֹּ֗שֶׁן אֲשֶׁ֤ר עַמִּי֙ עֹמֵ֣ד עָלֶ֔יהָ לְבִלְתִּ֥י הֱיֽוֹת־שָׁ֖ם עָרֹ֑ב לְמַ֣עַן תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      19 וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י פְדֻ֔ת בֵּ֥ין עַמִּ֖י וּבֵ֣ין עַמֶּ֑ךָ לְמָחָ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה הָאֹ֥ת הַזֶּֽה׃
      20 וַיַּ֤עַשׂ יְהוָה֙ כֵּ֔ן וַיָּבֹא֙ עָרֹ֣ב כָּבֵ֔ד בֵּ֥יתָה פַרְעֹ֖ה וּבֵ֣ית עֲבָדָ֑יו וּבְכָל־אֶ֧רֶץ מִצְרַ֛יִם תִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ מִפְּנֵ֥י הֶעָרֹֽב׃
      21 וַיִּקְרָ֣א פַרְעֹ֔ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֖ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ן וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לְכ֛וּ זִבְח֥וּ לֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
      22 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֗ה לֹ֤א נָכוֹן֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֔ן כִּ֚י תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת מִצְרַ֔יִם נִזְבַּ֖ח לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ הֵ֣ן נִזְבַּ֞ח אֶת־תּוֹעֲבַ֥ת מִצְרַ֛יִם לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֥א יִסְקְלֻֽנוּ׃
      23 דֶּ֚רֶךְ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֔ים נֵלֵ֖ךְ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וְזָבַ֙חְנוּ֙ לַֽיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר יֹאמַ֥ר אֵלֵֽינוּ׃
      24 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר פַּרְעֹ֗ה אָנֹכִ֞י אֲשַׁלַּ֤ח אֶתְכֶם֙ וּזְבַחְתֶּ֞ם לַיהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר רַ֛ק הַרְחֵ֥ק לֹא־תַרְחִ֖יקוּ לָלֶ֑כֶת הַעְתִּ֖ירוּ בַּעֲדִֽי׃
      25 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י יוֹצֵ֤א מֵֽעִמָּךְ֙ וְהַעְתַּרְתִּ֣י אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וְסָ֣ר הֶעָרֹ֗ב מִפַּרְעֹ֛ה מֵעֲבָדָ֥יו וּמֵעַמּ֖וֹ מָחָ֑ר רַ֗ק אַל־יֹסֵ֤ף פַּרְעֹה֙ הָתֵ֔ל לְבִלְתִּי֙ שַׁלַּ֣ח אֶת־הָעָ֔ם לִזְבֹּ֖חַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃
      26 וַיֵּצֵ֥א מֹשֶׁ֖ה מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיֶּעְתַּ֖ר אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃
      27 וַיַּ֤עַשׂ יְהוָה֙ כִּדְבַ֣ר מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיָּ֙סַר֙ הֶעָרֹ֔ב מִפַּרְעֹ֖ה מֵעֲבָדָ֣יו וּמֵעַמּ֑וֹ לֹ֥א נִשְׁאַ֖ר אֶחָֽד׃

      2 כִּ֛י אִם־מָאֵ֥ן אַתָּ֖ה לְשַׁלֵּ֑חַ וְעוֹדְךָ֖ מַחֲזִ֥יק בָּֽם׃
      3 הִנֵּ֨ה יַד־יְהוָ֜ה הוֹיָ֗ה בְּמִקְנְךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה בַּסּוּסִ֤ים בַּֽחֲמֹרִים֙ בַּגְּמַלִּ֔ים בַּבָּקָ֖ר וּבַצֹּ֑אן דֶּ֖בֶר כָּבֵ֥ד מְאֹֽד׃
      4 וְהִפְלָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה בֵּ֚ין מִקְנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּבֵ֖ין מִקְנֵ֣ה מִצְרָ֑יִם וְלֹ֥א יָמ֛וּת מִכָּל־לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל דָּבָֽר׃
      5 וַיָּ֥שֶׂם יְהוָ֖ה מוֹעֵ֣ד לֵאמֹ֑ר מָחָ֗ר יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
      6 וַיַּ֨עַשׂ יְהוָ֜ה אֶת־הַדָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת וַיָּ֕מָת כֹּ֖ל מִקְנֵ֣ה מִצְרָ֑יִם וּמִמִּקְנֵ֥ה בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹא־מֵ֥ת אֶחָֽד׃
      7 וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֗ה לֹא־מֵ֛ת מִמִּקְנֵ֥ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַד־אֶחָ֑ד וַיִּכְבַּד֙ לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְלֹ֥א שִׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־הָעָֽם׃
      8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן֒ קְח֤וּ לָכֶם֙ מְלֹ֣א חָפְנֵיכֶ֔ם פִּ֖יחַ כִּבְשָׁ֑ן וּזְרָק֥וֹ מֹשֶׁ֛ה הַשָּׁמַ֖יְמָה לְעֵינֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃
      9 וְהָיָ֣ה לְאָבָ֔ק עַ֖ל כָּל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהָיָ֨ה עַל־הָאָדָ֜ם וְעַל־הַבְּהֵמָ֗ה לִשְׁחִ֥ין פֹּרֵ֛חַ אֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֖ת בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      10 וַיִּקְח֞וּ אֶת־פִּ֣יחַ הַכִּבְשָׁ֗ן וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙ לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה וַיִּזְרֹ֥ק אֹת֛וֹ מֹשֶׁ֖ה הַשָּׁמָ֑יְמָה וַיְהִ֗י שְׁחִין֙ אֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֔ת פֹּרֵ֕חַ בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃
      11 וְלֹֽא־יָכְל֣וּ הַֽחַרְטֻמִּ֗ים לַעֲמֹ֛ד לִפְנֵ֥י מֹשֶׁ֖ה מִפְּנֵ֣י הַשְּׁחִ֑ין כִּֽי־הָיָ֣ה הַשְּׁחִ֔ין בַּֽחֲרְטֻמִּ֖ם וּבְכָל־מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      12 וַיְחַזֵּ֤ק יְהוָה֙ אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶֽׁה׃
      13 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה הַשְׁכֵּ֣ם בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וְהִתְיַצֵּ֖ב לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י הָֽעִבְרִ֔ים שַׁלַּ֥ח אֶת־עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃
      14 כִּ֣י ׀ בַּפַּ֣עַם הַזֹּ֗את אֲנִ֨י שֹׁלֵ֜חַ אֶת־כָּל־מַגֵּפֹתַי֙ אֶֽל־לִבְּךָ֔ וּבַעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ וּבְעַמֶּ֑ךָ בַּעֲב֣וּר תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֛י אֵ֥ין כָּמֹ֖נִי בְּכָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      15 כִּ֤י עַתָּה֙ שָׁלַ֣חְתִּי אֶת־יָדִ֔י וָאַ֥ךְ אוֹתְךָ֛ וְאֶֽת־עַמְּךָ֖ בַּדָּ֑בֶר וַתִּכָּחֵ֖ד מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      16 וְאוּלָ֗ם בַּעֲב֥וּר זֹאת֙ הֶעֱמַדְתִּ֔יךָ בַּעֲב֖וּר הַרְאֹתְךָ֣ אֶת־כֹּחִ֑י וּלְמַ֛עַן סַפֵּ֥ר שְׁמִ֖י בְּכָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      17 עוֹדְךָ֖ מִסְתּוֹלֵ֣ל בְּעַמִּ֑י לְבִלְתִּ֖י שַׁלְּחָֽם׃
      18 הִנְנִ֤י מַמְטִיר֙ כָּעֵ֣ת מָחָ֔ר בָּרָ֖ד כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֑ד אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־הָיָ֤ה כָמֹ֙הוּ֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם לְמִן־הַיּ֥וֹם הִוָּסְדָ֖ה וְעַד־עָֽתָּה׃
      19 וְעַתָּ֗ה שְׁלַ֤ח הָעֵז֙ אֶֽת־מִקְנְךָ֔ וְאֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְךָ֖ בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה כָּל־הָאָדָ֨ם וְהַבְּהֵמָ֜ה אֲשֶֽׁר־יִמָּצֵ֣א בַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְלֹ֤א יֵֽאָסֵף֙ הַבַּ֔יְתָה וְיָרַ֧ד עֲלֵהֶ֛ם הַבָּרָ֖ד וָמֵֽתוּ׃
      20 הַיָּרֵא֙ אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה מֵֽעַבְדֵ֖י פַּרְעֹ֑ה הֵנִ֛יס אֶת־עֲבָדָ֥יו וְאֶת־מִקְנֵ֖הוּ אֶל־הַבָּתִּֽים׃
      21 וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־שָׂ֛ם לִבּ֖וֹ אֶל־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה וַֽיַּעֲזֹ֛ב אֶת־עֲבָדָ֥יו וְאֶת־מִקְנֵ֖הוּ בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃
      22 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה נְטֵ֤ה אֶת־יָֽדְךָ֙ עַל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וִיהִ֥י בָרָ֖ד בְּכָל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם עַל־הָאָדָ֣ם וְעַל־הַבְּהֵמָ֗ה וְעַ֛ל כָּל־עֵ֥שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      23 וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־מַטֵּהוּ֮ עַל־הַשָּׁמַיִם֒ וַֽיהוָ֗ה נָתַ֤ן קֹלֹת֙ וּבָרָ֔ד וַתִּ֥הֲלַךְ אֵ֖שׁ אָ֑רְצָה וַיַּמְטֵ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה בָּרָ֖ד עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      24 וַיְהִ֣י בָרָ֔ד וְאֵ֕שׁ מִתְלַקַּ֖חַת בְּת֣וֹךְ הַבָּרָ֑ד כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא־הָיָ֤ה כָמֹ֙הוּ֙ בְּכָל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מֵאָ֖ז הָיְתָ֥ה לְגֽוֹי׃
      25 וַיַּ֨ךְ הַבָּרָ֜ד בְּכָל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם אֵ֚ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה מֵאָדָ֖ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֑ה וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־עֵ֤שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶה֙ הִכָּ֣ה הַבָּרָ֔ד וְאֶת־כָּל־עֵ֥ץ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה שִׁבֵּֽר׃
      26 רַ֚ק בְּאֶ֣רֶץ גֹּ֔שֶׁן אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לֹ֥א הָיָ֖ה בָּרָֽד׃
      27 וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח פַּרְעֹ֗ה וַיִּקְרָא֙ לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֔ן וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֖ם חָטָ֣אתִי הַפָּ֑עַם יְהוָה֙ הַצַּדִּ֔יק וַאֲנִ֥י וְעַמִּ֖י הָרְשָׁעִֽים׃
      28 הַעְתִּ֙ירוּ֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וְרַ֕ב מִֽהְיֹ֛ת קֹלֹ֥ת אֱלֹהִ֖ים וּבָרָ֑ד וַאֲשַׁלְּחָ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א תֹסִפ֖וּן לַעֲמֹֽד׃
      29 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה כְּצֵאתִי֙ אֶת־הָעִ֔יר אֶפְרֹ֥שׂ אֶת־כַּפַּ֖י אֶל־יְהוָ֑ה הַקֹּל֣וֹת יֶחְדָּל֗וּן וְהַבָּרָד֙ לֹ֣א יִֽהְיֶה־ע֔וֹד לְמַ֣עַן תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֥י לַיהוָ֖ה הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      30 וְאַתָּ֖ה וַעֲבָדֶ֑יךָ יָדַ֕עְתִּי כִּ֚י טֶ֣רֶם תִּֽירְא֔וּן מִפְּנֵ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהִֽים׃
      31 וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֥ה וְהַשְּׂעֹרָ֖ה נֻכָּ֑תָה כִּ֤י הַשְּׂעֹרָה֙ אָבִ֔יב וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֖ה גִּבְעֹֽל׃
      32 וְהַחִטָּ֥ה וְהַכֻּסֶּ֖מֶת לֹ֣א נֻכּ֑וּ כִּ֥י אֲפִילֹ֖ת הֵֽנָּה׃
      33 וַיֵּצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֜ה מֵעִ֤ם פַּרְעֹה֙ אֶת־הָעִ֔יר וַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂ כַּפָּ֖יו אֶל־יְהוָ֑ה וַֽיַּחְדְּל֤וּ הַקֹּלוֹת֙ וְהַבָּרָ֔ד וּמָטָ֖ר לֹא־נִתַּ֥ךְ אָֽרְצָה׃
      34 וַיַּ֣רְא פַּרְעֹ֗ה כִּֽי־חָדַ֨ל הַמָּטָ֧ר וְהַבָּרָ֛ד וְהַקֹּלֹ֖ת וַיֹּ֣סֶף לַחֲטֹ֑א וַיַּכְבֵּ֥ד לִבּ֖וֹ ה֥וּא וַעֲבָדָֽיו׃
      35 וַֽיֶּחֱזַק֙ לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְלֹ֥א שִׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־מֹשֶֽׁה׃

      1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בֹּ֖א אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֑ה כִּֽי־אֲנִ֞י הִכְבַּ֤דְתִּי אֶת־לִבּוֹ֙ וְאֶת־לֵ֣ב עֲבָדָ֔יו לְמַ֗עַן שִׁתִ֛י אֹתֹתַ֥י אֵ֖לֶּה בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃
      2 וּלְמַ֡עַן תְּסַפֵּר֩ בְּאָזְנֵ֨י בִנְךָ֜ וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ֗ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִתְעַלַּ֙לְתִּי֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְאֶת־אֹתֹתַ֖י אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֣מְתִּי בָ֑ם וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
      3 וַיָּבֹ֨א מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאַהֲרֹן֮ אֶל־פַּרְעֹה֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י הָֽעִבְרִ֔ים עַד־מָתַ֣י מֵאַ֔נְתָּ לֵעָנֹ֖ת מִפָּנָ֑י שַׁלַּ֥ח עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃
      4 כִּ֛י אִם־מָאֵ֥ן אַתָּ֖ה לְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ אֶת־עַמִּ֑י הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא מָחָ֛ר אַרְבֶּ֖ה בִּגְבֻלֶֽךָ׃
      5 וְכִסָּה֙ אֶת־עֵ֣ין הָאָ֔רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל לִרְאֹ֣ת אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְאָכַ֣ל ׀ אֶת־יֶ֣תֶר הַפְּלֵטָ֗ה הַנִּשְׁאֶ֤רֶת לָכֶם֙ מִן־הַבָּרָ֔ד וְאָכַל֙ אֶת־כָּל־הָעֵ֔ץ הַצֹּמֵ֥חַ לָכֶ֖ם מִן־הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃
      6 וּמָלְא֨וּ בָתֶּ֜יךָ וּבָתֵּ֣י כָל־עֲבָדֶיךָ֮ וּבָתֵּ֣י כָל־מִצְרַיִם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־רָא֤וּ אֲבֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ וַאֲב֣וֹת אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ מִיּ֗וֹם הֱיוֹתָם֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וַיִּ֥פֶן וַיֵּצֵ֖א מֵעִ֥ם פַּרְעֹֽה׃
      7 וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ עַבְדֵ֨י פַרְעֹ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו עַד־מָתַי֙ יִהְיֶ֨ה זֶ֥ה לָ֙נוּ֙ לְמוֹקֵ֔שׁ שַׁלַּח֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וְיַֽעַבְד֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם הֲטֶ֣רֶם תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֥י אָבְדָ֖ה מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      8 וַיּוּשַׁ֞ב אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֤ה וְאֶֽת־אַהֲרֹן֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם לְכ֥וּ עִבְד֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם מִ֥י וָמִ֖י הַהֹלְכִֽים׃
      9 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה בִּנְעָרֵ֥ינוּ וּבִזְקֵנֵ֖ינוּ נֵלֵ֑ךְ בְּבָנֵ֨ינוּ וּבִבְנוֹתֵ֜נוּ בְּצֹאנֵ֤נוּ וּבִבְקָרֵ֙נוּ֙ נֵלֵ֔ךְ כִּ֥י חַג־יְהוָ֖ה לָֽנוּ׃
      10 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם יְהִ֨י כֵ֤ן יְהוָה֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם וְאֶֽת־טַפְּכֶ֑ם רְא֕וּ כִּ֥י רָעָ֖ה נֶ֥גֶד פְּנֵיכֶֽם׃
      11 לֹ֣א כֵ֗ן לְכֽוּ־נָ֤א הַגְּבָרִים֙ וְעִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אֹתָ֖הּ אַתֶּ֣ם מְבַקְשִׁ֑ים וַיְגָ֣רֶשׁ אֹתָ֔ם מֵאֵ֖ת פְּנֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃
      12 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה נְטֵ֨ה יָדְךָ֜ עַל־אֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ בָּֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה וְיַ֖עַל עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְיֹאכַל֙ אֶת־כָּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֔רֶץ אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁאִ֖יר הַבָּרָֽד׃
      13 וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־מַטֵּהוּ֮ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ וַֽיהוָ֗ה נִהַ֤ג ר֥וּחַ קָדִים֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ כָּל־הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא וְכָל־הַלָּ֑יְלָה הַבֹּ֣קֶר הָיָ֔ה וְר֙וּחַ֙ הַקָּדִ֔ים נָשָׂ֖א אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּֽה׃
      14 וַיַּ֣עַל הָֽאַרְבֶּ֗ה עַ֚ל כָּל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיָּ֕נַח בְּכֹ֖ל גְּב֣וּל מִצְרָ֑יִם כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד לְ֠פָנָיו לֹא־הָ֨יָה כֵ֤ן אַרְבֶּה֙ כָּמֹ֔הוּ וְאַחֲרָ֖יו לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־כֵּֽן׃
      15 וַיְכַ֞ס אֶת־עֵ֣ין כָּל־הָאָרֶץ֮ וַתֶּחְשַׁ֣ךְ הָאָרֶץ֒ וַיֹּ֜אכַל אֶת־כָּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֗רֶץ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־פְּרִ֣י הָעֵ֔ץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹתִ֖יר הַבָּרָ֑ד וְלֹא־נוֹתַ֨ר כָּל־יֶ֧רֶק בָּעֵ֛ץ וּבְעֵ֥שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      16 וַיְמַהֵ֣ר פַּרְעֹ֔ה לִקְרֹ֖א לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ן וַיֹּ֗אמֶר חָטָ֛אתִי לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם וְלָכֶֽם׃
      17 וְעַתָּ֗ה שָׂ֣א נָ֤א חַטָּאתִי֙ אַ֣ךְ הַפַּ֔עַם וְהַעְתִּ֖ירוּ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם וְיָסֵר֙ מֵֽעָלַ֔י רַ֖ק אֶת־הַמָּ֥וֶת הַזֶּֽה׃
      18 וַיֵּצֵ֖א מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיֶּעְתַּ֖ר אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃
      19 וַיַּהֲפֹ֨ךְ יְהוָ֤ה רֽוּחַ־יָם֙ חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּשָּׂא֙ אֶת־הָ֣אַרְבֶּ֔ה וַיִּתְקָעֵ֖הוּ יָ֣מָּה סּ֑וּף לֹ֤א נִשְׁאַר֙ אַרְבֶּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ד בְּכֹ֖ל גְּב֥וּל מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      20 וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א שִׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
      21 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה נְטֵ֤ה יָֽדְךָ֙ עַל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וִ֥יהִי חֹ֖שֶׁךְ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְיָמֵ֖שׁ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
      22 וַיֵּ֥ט מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־יָד֖וֹ עַל־הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַיְהִ֧י חֹֽשֶׁךְ־אֲפֵלָ֛ה בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃
      23 לֹֽא־רָא֞וּ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־אָחִ֗יו וְלֹא־קָ֛מוּ אִ֥ישׁ מִתַּחְתָּ֖יו שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים וּֽלְכָל־בְּנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הָ֥יָה א֖וֹר בְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָֽם׃
      24 וַיִּקְרָ֨א פַרְעֹ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְכוּ֙ עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה רַ֛ק צֹאנְכֶ֥ם וּבְקַרְכֶ֖ם יֻצָּ֑ג גַּֽם־טַפְּכֶ֖ם יֵלֵ֥ךְ עִמָּכֶֽם׃
      25 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה גַּם־אַתָּ֛ה תִּתֵּ֥ן בְּיָדֵ֖נוּ זְבָחִ֣ים וְעֹל֑וֹת וְעָשִׂ֖ינוּ לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
      26 וְגַם־מִקְנֵ֜נוּ יֵלֵ֣ךְ עִמָּ֗נוּ לֹ֤א תִשָּׁאֵר֙ פַּרְסָ֔ה כִּ֚י מִמֶּ֣נּוּ נִקַּ֔ח לַעֲבֹ֖ד אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ לֹֽא־נֵדַ֗ע מַֽה־נַּעֲבֹד֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה עַד־בֹּאֵ֖נוּ שָֽׁמָּה׃
      27 וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א אָבָ֖ה לְשַׁלְּחָֽם׃
      28 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ פַרְעֹ֖ה לֵ֣ךְ מֵעָלָ֑י הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְךָ֗ אֶל־תֹּ֙סֶף֙ רְא֣וֹת פָּנַ֔י כִּ֗י בְּי֛וֹם רְאֹתְךָ֥ פָנַ֖י תָּמֽוּת׃
      29 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה כֵּ֣ן דִּבַּ֑רְתָּ לֹא־אֹסִ֥ף ע֖וֹד רְא֥וֹת פָּנֶֽיךָ׃

      Exode 11

      1 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה ע֣וֹד נֶ֤גַע אֶחָד֙ אָבִ֤יא עַל־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְעַל־מִצְרַ֔יִם אַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֕ן יְשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם מִזֶּ֑ה כְּשַׁ֨לְּח֔וֹ כָּלָ֕ה גָּרֵ֛שׁ יְגָרֵ֥שׁ אֶתְכֶ֖ם מִזֶּֽה׃
      2 דַּבֶּר־נָ֖א בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וְיִשְׁאֲל֞וּ אִ֣ישׁ ׀ מֵאֵ֣ת רֵעֵ֗הוּ וְאִשָּׁה֙ מֵאֵ֣ת רְעוּתָ֔הּ כְּלֵי־כֶ֖סֶף וּכְלֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃
      3 וַיִּתֵּ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־חֵ֥ן הָעָ֖ם בְּעֵינֵ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם גַּ֣ם ׀ הָאִ֣ישׁ מֹשֶׁ֗ה גָּד֤וֹל מְאֹד֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּעֵינֵ֥י עַבְדֵֽי־פַרְעֹ֖ה וּבְעֵינֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃
      4 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה כַּחֲצֹ֣ת הַלַּ֔יְלָה אֲנִ֥י יוֹצֵ֖א בְּת֥וֹךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      5 וּמֵ֣ת כָּל־בְּכוֹר֮ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ מִבְּכ֤וֹר פַּרְעֹה֙ הַיֹּשֵׁ֣ב עַל־כִּסְא֔וֹ עַ֚ד בְּכ֣וֹר הַשִּׁפְחָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר אַחַ֣ר הָרֵחָ֑יִם וְכֹ֖ל בְּכ֥וֹר בְּהֵמָֽה׃
      6 וְהָֽיְתָ֛ה צְעָקָ֥ה גְדֹלָ֖ה בְּכָל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֲשֶׁ֤ר כָּמֹ֙הוּ֙ לֹ֣א נִהְיָ֔תָה וְכָמֹ֖הוּ לֹ֥א תֹסִֽף׃
      7 וּלְכֹ֣ל ׀ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֹ֤א יֶֽחֱרַץ־כֶּ֙לֶב֙ לְשֹׁנ֔וֹ לְמֵאִ֖ישׁ וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֑ה לְמַ֙עַן֙ תֵּֽדְע֔וּן אֲשֶׁר֙ יַפְלֶ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה בֵּ֥ין מִצְרַ֖יִם וּבֵ֥ין יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
      8 וְיָרְד֣וּ כָל־עֲבָדֶיךָ֩ אֵ֨לֶּה אֵלַ֜י וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲוּוּ־לִ֣י לֵאמֹ֗ר צֵ֤א אַתָּה֙ וְכָל־הָעָ֣ם אֲשֶׁר־בְּרַגְלֶ֔יךָ וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֖ן אֵצֵ֑א וַיֵּצֵ֥א מֵֽעִם־פַּרְעֹ֖ה בָּחֳרִי־אָֽף׃
      9 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה לֹא־יִשְׁמַ֥ע אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה לְמַ֛עַן רְב֥וֹת מוֹפְתַ֖י בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      10 וּמֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאַהֲרֹ֗ן עָשׂ֛וּ אֶת־כָּל־הַמֹּפְתִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וַיְחַזֵּ֤ק יְהוָה֙ אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְלֹֽא־שִׁלַּ֥ח אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאַרְצֽוֹ׃

      Exode 12

      1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם לֵאמֹֽר׃
      2 הַחֹ֧דֶשׁ הַזֶּ֛ה לָכֶ֖ם רֹ֣אשׁ חֳדָשִׁ֑ים רִאשׁ֥וֹן הוּא֙ לָכֶ֔ם לְחָדְשֵׁ֖י הַשָּׁנָֽה׃
      3 דַּבְּר֗וּ אֶֽל־כָּל־עֲדַ֤ת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר בֶּעָשֹׂ֖ר לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַזֶּ֑ה וְיִקְח֣וּ לָהֶ֗ם אִ֛ישׁ שֶׂ֥ה לְבֵית־אָבֹ֖ת שֶׂ֥ה לַבָּֽיִת׃
      4 וְאִם־יִמְעַ֣ט הַבַּיִת֮ מִהְיֹ֣ת מִשֶּׂה֒ וְלָקַ֣ח ה֗וּא וּשְׁכֵנ֛וֹ הַקָּרֹ֥ב אֶל־בֵּית֖וֹ בְּמִכְסַ֣ת נְפָשֹׁ֑ת אִ֚ישׁ לְפִ֣י אָכְל֔וֹ תָּכֹ֖סּוּ עַל־הַשֶּֽׂה׃
      5 שֶׂ֥ה תָמִ֛ים זָכָ֥ר בֶּן־שָׁנָ֖ה יִהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם מִן־הַכְּבָשִׂ֥ים וּמִן־הָעִזִּ֖ים תִּקָּֽחוּ׃
      6 וְהָיָ֤ה לָכֶם֙ לְמִשְׁמֶ֔רֶת עַ֣ד אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֛ר י֖וֹם לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַזֶּ֑ה וְשָׁחֲט֣וּ אֹת֗וֹ כֹּ֛ל קְהַ֥ל עֲדַֽת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֵּ֥ין הָעַרְבָּֽיִם׃
      7 וְלָֽקְחוּ֙ מִן־הַדָּ֔ם וְנָֽתְנ֛וּ עַל־שְׁתֵּ֥י הַמְּזוּזֹ֖ת וְעַל־הַמַּשְׁק֑וֹף עַ֚ל הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־יֹאכְל֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ בָּהֶֽם׃
      8 וְאָכְל֥וּ אֶת־הַבָּשָׂ֖ר בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַזֶּ֑ה צְלִי־אֵ֣שׁ וּמַצּ֔וֹת עַל־מְרֹרִ֖ים יֹאכְלֻֽהוּ׃
      9 אַל־תֹּאכְל֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ נָ֔א וּבָשֵׁ֥ל מְבֻשָּׁ֖ל בַּמָּ֑יִם כִּ֣י אִם־צְלִי־אֵ֔שׁ רֹאשׁ֥וֹ עַל־כְּרָעָ֖יו וְעַל־קִרְבּֽוֹ׃
      10 וְלֹא־תוֹתִ֥ירוּ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ עַד־בֹּ֑קֶר וְהַנֹּתָ֥ר מִמֶּ֛נּוּ עַד־בֹּ֖קֶר בָּאֵ֥שׁ תִּשְׂרֹֽפוּ׃
      11 וְכָכָה֮ תֹּאכְל֣וּ אֹתוֹ֒ מָתְנֵיכֶ֣ם חֲגֻרִ֔ים נַֽעֲלֵיכֶם֙ בְּרַגְלֵיכֶ֔ם וּמַקֶּלְכֶ֖ם בְּיֶדְכֶ֑ם וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם אֹתוֹ֙ בְּחִפָּז֔וֹן פֶּ֥סַח ה֖וּא לַיהוָֽה׃
      12 וְעָבַרְתִּ֣י בְאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם֮ בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַזֶּה֒ וְהִכֵּיתִ֤י כָל־בְּכוֹר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מֵאָדָ֖ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֑ה וּבְכָל־אֱלֹהֵ֥י מִצְרַ֛יִם אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה שְׁפָטִ֖ים אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
      13 וְהָיָה֩ הַדָּ֨ם לָכֶ֜ם לְאֹ֗ת עַ֤ל הַבָּתִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתֶּ֣ם שָׁ֔ם וְרָאִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־הַדָּ֔ם וּפָסַחְתִּ֖י עֲלֵכֶ֑ם וְלֹֽא־יִֽהְיֶ֨ה בָכֶ֥ם נֶ֙גֶף֙ לְמַשְׁחִ֔ית בְּהַכֹּתִ֖י בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      14 וְהָיָה֩ הַיּ֨וֹם הַזֶּ֤ה לָכֶם֙ לְזִכָּר֔וֹן וְחַגֹּתֶ֥ם אֹת֖וֹ חַ֣ג לַֽיהוָ֑ה לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם חֻקַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם תְּחָגֻּֽהוּ׃
      15 שִׁבְעַ֤ת יָמִים֙ מַצּ֣וֹת תֹּאכֵ֔לוּ אַ֚ךְ בַּיּ֣וֹם הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן תַּשְׁבִּ֥יתוּ שְּׂאֹ֖ר מִבָּתֵּיכֶ֑ם כִּ֣י ׀ כָּל־אֹכֵ֣ל חָמֵ֗ץ וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה הַנֶּ֤פֶשׁ הַהִוא֙ מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִיּ֥וֹם הָרִאשֹׁ֖ן עַד־י֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃
      16 וּבַיּ֤וֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן֙ מִקְרָא־קֹ֔דֶשׁ וּבַיּוֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י מִקְרָא־קֹ֖דֶשׁ יִהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם כָּל־מְלָאכָה֙ לֹא־יֵעָשֶׂ֣ה בָהֶ֔ם אַ֚ךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֣ל לְכָל־נֶ֔פֶשׁ ה֥וּא לְבַדּ֖וֹ יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶֽם׃
      17 וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֮ אֶת־הַמַּצּוֹת֒ כִּ֗י בְּעֶ֙צֶם֙ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אֶת־צִבְאוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֞ם אֶת־הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֖ם חֻקַּ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃
      18 בָּרִאשֹׁ֡ן בְּאַרְבָּעָה֩ עָשָׂ֨ר י֤וֹם לַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ בָּעֶ֔רֶב תֹּאכְל֖וּ מַצֹּ֑ת עַ֠ד י֣וֹם הָאֶחָ֧ד וְעֶשְׂרִ֛ים לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ בָּעָֽרֶב׃
      19 שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים שְׂאֹ֕ר לֹ֥א יִמָּצֵ֖א בְּבָתֵּיכֶ֑ם כִּ֣י ׀ כָּל־אֹכֵ֣ל מַחְמֶ֗צֶת וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה הַנֶּ֤פֶשׁ הַהִוא֙ מֵעֲדַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בַּגֵּ֖ר וּבְאֶזְרַ֥ח הָאָֽרֶץ׃
      20 כָּל־מַחְמֶ֖צֶת לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֑לוּ בְּכֹל֙ מוֹשְׁבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם תֹּאכְל֖וּ מַצּֽוֹת׃
      21 וַיִּקְרָ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה לְכָל־זִקְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֑ם מִֽשְׁכ֗וּ וּקְח֨וּ לָכֶ֥ם צֹ֛אן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיכֶ֖ם וְשַׁחֲט֥וּ הַפָּֽסַח׃
      22 וּלְקַחְתֶּ֞ם אֲגֻדַּ֣ת אֵז֗וֹב וּטְבַלְתֶּם֮ בַּדָּ֣ם אֲשֶׁר־בַּסַּף֒ וְהִגַּעְתֶּ֤ם אֶל־הַמַּשְׁקוֹף֙ וְאֶל־שְׁתֵּ֣י הַמְּזוּזֹ֔ת מִן־הַדָּ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּסָּ֑ף וְאַתֶּ֗ם לֹ֥א תֵצְא֛וּ אִ֥ישׁ מִפֶּֽתַח־בֵּית֖וֹ עַד־בֹּֽקֶר׃
      23 וְעָבַ֣ר יְהוָה֮ לִנְגֹּ֣ף אֶת־מִצְרַיִם֒ וְרָאָ֤ה אֶת־הַדָּם֙ עַל־הַמַּשְׁק֔וֹף וְעַ֖ל שְׁתֵּ֣י הַמְּזוּזֹ֑ת וּפָסַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ עַל־הַפֶּ֔תַח וְלֹ֤א יִתֵּן֙ הַמַּשְׁחִ֔ית לָבֹ֥א אֶל־בָּתֵּיכֶ֖ם לִנְגֹּֽף׃
      24 וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה לְחָק־לְךָ֥ וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃
      25 וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי־תָבֹ֣אוּ אֶל־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִתֵּ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה לָכֶ֖ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת׃
      26 וְהָיָ֕ה כִּֽי־יֹאמְר֥וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם בְּנֵיכֶ֑ם מָ֛ה הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את לָכֶֽם׃
      27 וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֡ם זֶֽבַח־פֶּ֨סַח ה֜וּא לַֽיהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּ֠סַח עַל־בָּתֵּ֤י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם בְּנָגְפּ֥וֹ אֶת־מִצְרַ֖יִם וְאֶת־בָּתֵּ֣ינוּ הִצִּ֑יל וַיִּקֹּ֥ד הָעָ֖ם וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ׃
      28 וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאַהֲרֹ֖ן כֵּ֥ן עָשֽׂוּ׃
      29 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּחֲצִ֣י הַלַּ֗יְלָה וַֽיהוָה֮ הִכָּ֣ה כָל־בְּכוֹר֮ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ מִבְּכֹ֤ר פַּרְעֹה֙ הַיֹּשֵׁ֣ב עַל־כִּסְא֔וֹ עַ֚ד בְּכ֣וֹר הַשְּׁבִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּבֵ֣ית הַבּ֑וֹר וְכֹ֖ל בְּכ֥וֹר בְּהֵמָֽה׃
      30 וַיָּ֨קָם פַּרְעֹ֜ה לַ֗יְלָה ה֤וּא וְכָל־עֲבָדָיו֙ וְכָל־מִצְרַ֔יִם וַתְּהִ֛י צְעָקָ֥ה גְדֹלָ֖ה בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם כִּֽי־אֵ֣ין בַּ֔יִת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽין־שָׁ֖ם מֵֽת׃
      31 וַיִּקְרָא֩ לְמֹשֶׁ֨ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֜ן לַ֗יְלָה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ ק֤וּמוּ צְּאוּ֙ מִתּ֣וֹךְ עַמִּ֔י גַּם־אַתֶּ֖ם גַּם־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּלְכ֛וּ עִבְד֥וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה כְּדַבֶּרְכֶֽם׃
      32 גַּם־צֹאנְכֶ֨ם גַּם־בְּקַרְכֶ֥ם קְח֛וּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּרְתֶּ֖ם וָלֵ֑כוּ וּבֵֽרַכְתֶּ֖ם גַּם־אֹתִֽי׃
      33 וַתֶּחֱזַ֤ק מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ עַל־הָעָ֔ם לְמַהֵ֖ר לְשַׁלְּחָ֣ם מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּ֥י אָמְר֖וּ כֻּלָּ֥נוּ מֵתִֽים׃
      34 וַיִּשָּׂ֥א הָעָ֛ם אֶת־בְּצֵק֖וֹ טֶ֣רֶם יֶחְמָ֑ץ מִשְׁאֲרֹתָ֛ם צְרֻרֹ֥ת בְּשִׂמְלֹתָ֖ם עַל־שִׁכְמָֽם׃
      35 וּבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל עָשׂ֖וּ כִּדְבַ֣ר מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַֽיִּשְׁאֲלוּ֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם כְּלֵי־כֶ֛סֶף וּכְלֵ֥י זָהָ֖ב וּשְׂמָלֹֽת׃
      36 וַֽיהוָ֞ה נָתַ֨ן אֶת־חֵ֥ן הָעָ֛ם בְּעֵינֵ֥י מִצְרַ֖יִם וַיַּשְׁאִל֑וּם וַֽיְנַצְּל֖וּ אֶת־מִצְרָֽיִם׃
      37 וַיִּסְע֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל מֵרַעְמְסֵ֖ס סֻכֹּ֑תָה כְּשֵׁשׁ־מֵא֨וֹת אֶ֧לֶף רַגְלִ֛י הַגְּבָרִ֖ים לְבַ֥ד מִטָּֽף׃

      15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he goes out to the water; and you shall stand by the river's bank to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand.
      16 You shall tell him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, "Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness:" and behold, until now you haven't listened.
      17 Thus says Yahweh, "In this you shall know that I am Yahweh. Behold, I will strike with the rod that is in my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
      18 The fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall become foul; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink water from the river."'"
      19 Yahweh said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.'"
      20 Moses and Aaron did so, as Yahweh commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
      21 The fish that were in the river died; and the river became foul, and the Egyptians couldn't drink water from the river; and the blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.
      22 The magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he didn't listen to them; as Yahweh had spoken.
      23 Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he didn't even take this to heart.
      24 All the Egyptians dug around the river for water to drink; for they couldn't drink of the water of the river.
      25 Seven days were fulfilled, after Yahweh had struck the river.

      Exode 8

      1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, "This is what Yahweh says, 'Let my people go, that they may serve me.
      2 If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:
      3 and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:
      4 and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.'"
      5 Yahweh said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.'"
      6 Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
      7 The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.
      8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, "Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh."
      9 Moses said to Pharaoh, "I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only."
      10 He said, "Tomorrow." He said, "Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is none like Yahweh our God.
      11 The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only."
      12 Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.
      13 Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.
      14 They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.
      15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn't listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.
      16 Yahweh said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.'"
      17 They did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
      18 The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn't. There were lice on man, and on animal.
      19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God:" and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he didn't listen to them; as Yahweh had spoken.
      20 Yahweh said to Moses, "Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, 'This is what Yahweh says, "Let my people go, that they may serve me.
      21 Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
      22 I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahweh in the midst of the earth.
      23 I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be."'"
      24 Yahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants' houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.
      25 Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, "Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!"
      26 Moses said, "It isn't appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to Yahweh our God. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and won't they stone us?
      27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as he shall command us."
      28 Pharaoh said, "I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me."
      29 Moses said, "Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don't let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh."
      30 Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.
      31 Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.
      32 Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn't let the people go.

      Exode 9

      1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, 'This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, that they may serve me.
      2 For if you refuse to let them go, and hold them still,
      3 behold, the hand of Yahweh is on your livestock which are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks with a very grievous pestilence.
      4 Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt; and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel."'"
      5 Yahweh appointed a set time, saying, "Tomorrow Yahweh shall do this thing in the land."
      6 Yahweh did that thing on the next day; and all the livestock of Egypt died, but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died.
      7 Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the livestock of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he didn't let the people go.
      8 Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron, "Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh.
      9 It shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking out with boils on man and on animal, throughout all the land of Egypt."
      10 They took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward the sky; and it became a boil breaking out with boils on man and on animal.
      11 The magicians couldn't stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were on the magicians, and on all the Egyptians.
      12 Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he didn't listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken to Moses.
      13 Yahweh said to Moses, "Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him, 'This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, that they may serve me.
      14 For this time I will send all my plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people; that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
      15 For now I would have stretched out my hand, and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;
      16 but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth;
      17 as you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won't let them go.
      18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now.
      19 Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the field be brought into shelter. Every man and animal that is found in the field, and isn't brought home, the hail shall come down on them, and they shall die."'"
      20 Those who feared the word of Yahweh among the servants of Pharaoh made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.
      21 Whoever didn't respect the word of Yahweh left his servants and his livestock in the field.
      22 Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on animal, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt."
      23 Moses stretched out his rod toward the heavens, and Yahweh sent thunder, hail, and lightning flashed down to the earth. Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt.
      24 So there was very severe hail, and lightning mixed with the hail, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
      25 The hail struck throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and animal; and the hail struck every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.
      26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.
      27 Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
      28 Pray to Yahweh; for there has been enough of mighty thunderings and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer."
      29 Moses said to him, "As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to Yahweh. The thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is Yahweh's.
      30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you don't yet fear Yahweh God."
      31 The flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom.
      32 But the wheat and the spelt were not struck, for they had not grown up.
      33 Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands to Yahweh; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.
      34 When Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
      35 The heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he didn't let the children of Israel go, just as Yahweh had spoken through Moses.

      Exode 10

      1 Yahweh said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs in their midst,
      2 and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son's son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am Yahweh."
      3 Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, "This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.
      4 Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
      5 and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won't be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.
      6 Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.'" He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
      7 Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve Yahweh, their God. Don't you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?"
      8 Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, "Go, serve Yahweh your God; but who are those who will go?"
      9 Moses said, "We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast to Yahweh."
      10 He said to them, "Yahweh be with you if I will let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.
      11 Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve Yahweh; for that is what you desire!" They were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
      12 Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left."
      13 Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and Yahweh brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
      14 The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
      15 For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
      16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, "I have sinned against Yahweh your God, and against you.
      17 Now therefore please forgive my sin again, and pray to Yahweh your God, that he may also take away from me this death."
      18 He went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.
      19 Yahweh turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea . There remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.
      20 But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he didn't let the children of Israel go.
      21 Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt."
      22 Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
      23 They didn't see one another, neither did anyone rise from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
      24 Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, "Go, serve Yahweh. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you."
      25 Moses said, "You must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our God.
      26 Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve Yahweh our God; and we don't know with what we must serve Yahweh, until we come there."
      27 But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he wouldn't let them go.
      28 Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!"
      29 Moses said, "You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more."

      Exode 11

      1 Yahweh said to Moses, "Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he will surely thrust you out altogether.
      2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold."
      3 Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.
      4 Moses said, "This is what Yahweh says: 'About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt,
      5 and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of livestock.
      6 There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.
      7 But against any of the children of Israel a dog won't even bark or move its tongue, against man or animal; that you may know that Yahweh makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.
      8 All these your servants shall come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, "Get out, with all the people who follow you"; and after that I will go out.'" He went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
      9 Yahweh said to Moses, "Pharaoh won't listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt."
      10 Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he didn't let the children of Israel go out of his land.

      Exode 12

      1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
      2 "This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.
      3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household;
      4 and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls; according to what everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.
      5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:
      6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.
      7 They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.
      8 They shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.
      9 Don't eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; with its head, its legs and its inner parts.
      10 You shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.
      11 This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh's Passover.
      12 For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Yahweh.
      13 The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.
      14 This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to Yahweh: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.
      15 "'Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; even the first day you shall put away yeast out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
      16 In the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no kind of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
      17 You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.
      18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening.
      19 There shall be no yeast found in your houses for seven days, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a foreigner, or one who is born in the land.
      20 You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.'"
      21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, "Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover.
      22 You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
      23 For Yahweh will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts, Yahweh will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.
      24 You shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.
      25 It shall happen when you have come to the land which Yahweh will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service.
      26 It will happen, when your children ask you, 'What do you mean by this service?'
      27 that you shall say, 'It is the sacrifice of Yahweh's Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, and spared our houses.'" The people bowed their heads and worshiped.
      28 The children of Israel went and did so; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
      29 It happened at midnight, that Yahweh struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of livestock.
      30 Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
      31 He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, "Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!
      32 Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!"
      33 The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, "We are all dead men."
      34 The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
      35 The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.
      36 Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the Egyptians.
      37 The children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.
