Le peuple est exhorté à prier Dieu.

Le Dieu à qui nous avons à faire est un Dieu terrible et majestueux. L'absolue et universelle souveraineté du Dieu saint serait, rien que par le fait d'y penser, bien trop terrible pour nous, si la miséricorde de Son Fils ne nous avait permis de la percevoir ; mais maintenant, elle n'est terrible que pour ceux qui pratiquent l'iniquité ; tandis que Son peuple exprime sa confiance, sa joie et incite les autres à Le servir, les pécheurs, quant à eux, doivent se soumettre à Son autorité et accepter Son salut. Jésus-Christ va s'adresser aux Gentils ; il va venir dans le monde en tant qu'agneau non pas pour tuer mais pour préserver. Il va susciter l'affection des siens pour en faire un peuple désireux de Le voir au jour de Son avènement.

Le Seigneur promet également le repos et la paix. Appliquez ces pratiques spirituelles ; Christ, Lui-même, s'est engagé à être l'héritage de Son peuple. Cela indique le chemin de la soumission et de la foi. C'est le langage de l'âme ; le Seigneur choisira mon héritage ; Il sait ce qui est bon pour moi, mieux que je ne pourrais l'imaginer.
