Pour tirer en cachette : image du chasseur à l'affût. La calomnie frappe la victime, sans que l'on sache d'où le trait est parti.

Ils n'ont point de crainte. La crainte de Dieu devrait les retenir, mais ils s'affermissent et s'endurcissent contre ce sentiment, en se persuadant que personne ne les voit (verset 6).
