1 Chroniques 9.1

Tous les Israélites furent inscrits, familles par familles, dans le registre des rois d’Israël. Les Judéens avaient été déportés à Babylone, à cause de leur infidélité envers Dieu.
Et tous ceux d'Israël furent enregistrés par généalogies ; et voici, ils sont inscrits dans le livre des rois d'Israël. Et Juda fut transporté à Babylone à cause de ses péchés.

Evidemment un renvoi au livre des rois d'Israël (et de Juda) pour toutes les généalogies antérieures a l'exil. L'auteur veut dire que si quelqu'un désire connaître exactement ces généalogies-là, c'est dans le livre des rois d'Israël qu'il doit les chercher : pour lui, il ne veut donner maintenant que les habitants de Juda (spécialement de Jérusalem) après l'exil. Comme l'auteur des Chroniques a donné plus haut quelques-unes de ces généalogies, on peut supposer avec assez de vraisemblance qu'il n'a pas lui-même composé notre verset, mais qu'il l'a emprunté tel quel à la source d'où il a tiré le chapitre 9.

Généalogies.

- Ce chapitre traite de la fin de la généalogie du peuple juif, lors de son retour de captivité : chacun était ainsi capable de différentier chaque tribu et connaissait de ce fait le territoire où il pouvait résider en Israël. On peut estimer que les Juifs de cette époque, à leur retour de Babylone, étaient spirituellement prêts à rencontrer de nouveau l'Éternel. Chacun savait ce qu'il avait à faire.

Le travail a de grandes chances d'être correctement accompli, quand chacun connaît sa tâche et s'occupe de ses affaires. Dieu est un Dieu ordonné. Le temple de l'époque relaté dans ce chapitre, était une image de celui que l'on pourra voir plus tard dans les cieux, où l'on rendra gloire à l'Éternel jour et nuit, Apocalypse 4:8. Béni soit Son Nom : au ciel, les croyants pourront rendre gloire à Dieu, non pas de manière isolée, mais tous ensemble, sans interruption, nuit et jour !

Que le Seigneur puisse nous rendre dignes de l'héritage des saints, dans Sa Lumière !
