Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

Tous les avertissements qui précèdent viennent se résumer dans celui-là, que les Corinthiens étaient le plus tentés de négliger. Paul y insiste, et pour cela il va mettre (verset 16) en opposition la communion au corps de Christ et la communion des idoles, que plusieurs considéraient comme un culte rendu aux démons, idée fausse si l'on ne considère que l'idole, mais vraie si l'on pénètre jusqu'à l'esprit même du paganisme.
