Juger, de la part de l'homme, ne va jamais jusqu'à empiéter sur le jugement seul définitif, seul infaillible de Dieu. Cela est vrai, même pour les membres d'une Eglise, objets de sa discipline ; combien plus pour ceux du dehors, qui ne relèvent que du jugement de Dieu, l'Eglise n'ayant sur eux aucune action directe, si ce n'est en s'efforçant de les gagner à Christ.

Application toute spirituelle et morale d'un ordre qui, dans l'Anc. Test., regardait l'exercice de la justice. (Deutéronome 17.7,12 ; 19.19 ; 21.21 et suivants)

Le principe de la discipline est le même ; la différence totale des deux économies fait la différence non moins grande de l'application.
