Jésus-Christ était le thème principal des prophètes.

Leur investigation sur les souffrances de Christ et la gloire qui allait en découler, allait les conduire vers une vision de l'Évangile tout entier ; nous pouvons résumer tout cela ainsi : Jésus-Christ a été livré pour nos offenses, et Il est ressuscité pour notre justification.

Dieu a désiré répondre à nos besoins plutôt qu'à nos requêtes. La doctrine des prophètes et celle des apôtres s'accordent parfaitement : toutes deux proviennent comme du même Esprit de Dieu.

L'Évangile est le « ministère » de l'Esprit : son succès dépend de l’opération et de la bénédiction de ce Dernier. Cherchons donc diligemment dans les Écritures, la doctrine du salut !
