Quel contraste entre les outrages du monde et le glorieux Esprit qui anime et fortifie les chrétiens ! Voilà pourquoi ils sont proclamés bienheureux.

Cette consolation est si puissante, qu'elle a soutenu et rendu joyeux beaucoup de martyrs.

Le texte reçu ajoute : il est blasphémé par eux, mais il est glorifié par vous. Il s'agit de Christ que le monde blasphème, tandis que les chrétiens le glorifient en souffrant pour lui.
