Se divisa. Cette division dura quatre ans entiers, comme on le voit en comparant les versets 15, 23 et 29. Ces quatre ans sont envisagés comme rentrant dans le règne d'Omri, qui est ainsi estimé à douze ans ; sans doute pendant les quatre premières années, Omri eut à lutter contre son rival Thibni, pour lequel une partie du peuple s'était déclarée. Mais comme il avait pour lui l'armée qui l'avait proclamé roi, il finit par l'emporter sur son rival.
