36 à 46 Punition de Siméi.

Du compte de Joab, Salomon passe à celui de Siméi.

Bâtis-toi... à Jérusalem. Siméi demeurait à Bahurim (2Samuel 16.5). Salomon le plaçait ainsi sous sa surveillance immédiate. Cette manière de procéder était pleine de sagesse ; il n'infligeait par là à Siméi qu'une peine légère et tenait compte de l'engagement pris par David, 2Samuel 19.23, tout en lui fournissant l'occasion de montrer sa soumission, sous peine de faire retomber sur sa tête le châtiment mérité.
