A cette occasion le narrateur ajoute quelques détails sur les deux autres femmes qu'avait déjà David.

Ahinoham de Jizréel (ville de Juda, mentionnée Josué 15.56 et voisine des lieux où vivait alors David), fut la mère de son fils aîné, Amnon, d'après 2Samuel 3.2. Il est probable qu'elle était déjà sa femme quand il épousa Abigaïl.
