Paul revient au principe qu'il a posé, (verset 3) au grand motif qui, pour le chrétien, renferme et sanctionne tous les préceptes de la morale, la volonté de Dieu manifestée dans la vocation céleste adressée à ses enfants.

- Ici le mot impureté est pris dans un sens général et signifie les injustices (verset 6) aussi bien que les péchés de la chair.
