1 Thessaloniciens 5.23

Αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ἁγιάσαι ὑμᾶς ὁλοτελεῖς, καὶ ὁλόκληρον ὑμῶν τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ καὶ τὸ σῶμα ἀμέμπτως ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τηρηθείη.
L'apôtre Paul prie pour que les Thessaloniciens puissent être davantage sanctifiés, car même le meilleur des hommes pieux reste toujours perfectible ici-bas ; c'est pourquoi nous devons prier avec ferveur, en vue d’une sainteté plus complète.

Si Dieu ne parachevait pas Son œuvre en notre âme, nous ne ferions qu’accentuer notre chute... Nous devons prier pour qu’Il nous sanctifie davantage, jusqu'à ce que nous soyons présentés sans défaut devant le trône de Sa gloire.

Nous devons prier les uns pour les autres ; les membres de l’assemblée doivent exprimer ainsi leur amour fraternel.

Cette épître aux Thessaloniciens était destinée à être lue devant tous les frères de l’assemblée. Le « commun du peuple » est non seulement autorisé à lire l'Écriture, mais il doit être convaincu d’avoir à le faire. La Parole de Dieu ne doit pas être uniquement conservée dans sa langue originale, incompréhensible pour plusieurs : Elle doit être traduite, car nous sommes tous concernés par la connaissance des Écritures et devons être capables de Les lire ouvertement. La Parole de Dieu doit être lue dans toutes les assemblées, pour instruire chacun spirituellement.

Nous n'avons besoin de rien de plus pour être heureux, dans la connaissance de la Grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Il est en effet une source abondante et permanente de Grâce, capable de subvenir à tous nos besoins !
Or le Dieu de paix lui-même vous sanctifie entièrement ; et que votre esprit, et votre âme, et votre corps tout entiers, soient conservés sans reproche en la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ.
