Ces dernières paroles, qui, dans la pensée de l'apôtre, doivent faire suite à celles-ci : je vous recevrai, (verset 17) ne se trouvent point sous cette forme dans l'Ancien Testament.

Elles ne sont probablement que des réminiscences de déclarations telles que 2Samuel 7.14 ; Jérémie 31.9 ; Esaïe 43.6. Elles n'en renferment pas moins une précieuse promesse de Dieu, selon "l'esprit d'adoption." (Romains 8.15)
