World English Bible Jehoahaz begged Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Syria oppressed them.

La bible annotée Commentaire de Matthew Henry

Apaisa, littéralement : apaisa la face (1Rois 13.6). Cette repentance était bien incomplète et ne fut point partagée par la majorité du peuple (verset 6) ; cependant Dieu en tint compte. Israël recouvra son indépendance et quelque sécurité. C'eût été le moment de se convertir tout à fait, mais il n'en fut rien, d'après le verset 6.
