World English Bible So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn't fear Yahweh: therefore Yahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.

Des lions : Lévitique 26.22, note. Il s'écoula un certain temps jusqu'à ce que les colons fussent arrivés de si loin, et une grande partie du pays restait encore inhabitée. De là cette multiplication des bêtes féroces, dans laquelle l'auteur voit, ainsi que le virent les colons eux-mêmes, une dispensation divine.
