Dans les deux parvis : le parvis extérieur où tout le peuple pouvait entrer, et le parvis intérieur où était l'autel des holocaustes et où fonctionnaient les lévites et les sacrificateurs. Ce fut jusque dans ce lieu sacré que Manassé osa établir son culte idolâtre. Achaz avait bien introduit un autel assyrien dans le parvis intérieur, mais il n'est pas dit que le culte offert sur cet autel le fût aux divinités païennes.
