On peut traduire ou : Frappe-t-on ceux qu'on a faits prisonniers ? Réponse : Non, ce serait une cruauté. Mais dans les mœurs anciennes, c'était ce qui se faisait fréquemment. Ou bien : Tu n'aurais le droit de les frapper que s'ils avaient été faits prisonniers par ta main. Mais ce sens ne s'accorde pas avec la particule d'interrogation qui est dans le texte. Nous expliquons donc : En les frappant, frapperais-tu des gens que tu as toi-même faits prisonniers ? A cette condition seule cet acte serait légitime.
