World English Bible The seventh poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came forth out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!"

Le septième ange verse sa coupe dans (grec sur) l'air, non que l'air doive être atteint par le fléau, mais afin de produire les troubles atmosphériques (verset 18) qui amèneront pour la terre les suprêmes jugements de Dieu. (verset 19 et suivants)

La voix sort du temple, elle vient du trône : c'est la voix de Dieu lui-même.

C'en est fait (grec c'est devenu, arrivé) signifie, d'après la plupart : l'ordre donné à verset 1 a été exécuté.

Mais pour saisir tout le sens de cette parole solennelle, prononcée par Dieu lui-même, il faut ajouter que ce qui est ainsi accompli, achevé, c'est l'ensemble des jugements et des dispensations de Dieu à l'égard de l'humanité. Comparer Apocalypse 21.6.

Le septième et dernier ange versa sa coupe, ce qui acheva la chute de Babylone. L'église triomphante, dans le ciel, vit cette scène et s'en réjouit ; celle, en plein conflit, sur terre, vit également cette ruine, ce qui l’encouragea triomphalement.

Dieu se souvint de cette grande et mauvaise ville ; il semblait pourtant qu’elle avait oublié durant quelque temps son idolâtrie et sa cruauté. Tout ce qui paraissait indestructible fut emporté et détruit.

Les hommes proférèrent des blasphèmes : les plus grands jugements qui peuvent tomber sur eux, ne pourront les amener à la repentance, sans le secours de la Grâce divine.

L’endurcissement contre Dieu, suite à Ses Jugements vertueux, est le signe annonciateur d’une destruction totale et inéluctable.
